Konate's going on a free next summer. So I'd say the club are hoping we can get lucky injury wise and hold on for the G man for free. Any bumps in the road and they'll probably go for him in January for about Ł20m or less. If not, I don't know who they'd get in mid-season if we do go down in defensive numbers...
I am looking forward to seeing what young Giovanni Leoni can offer though..

A forward who can play across all three positions and (if he stays fit. Fingers crossed!!) would be a useful as an impact substitute late in games or an understudy/alternate option to the likely starting forward line of Mo, Isak and Gakpo/Ekitike.
I think he deserves a chance to prove and fight for his place in the team, and I believe he did have an opportunity to leave earlier in the window for a club back in his home Italy but he wanted to stay and fight for a place here.
That's the kind of player I want playing for us.
