Agree with that. I like gakpo too and there will be games where he will be the game changer, but letting Diaz go without a proper replacement could come back to haunt us.
Seeing Ekitike out wide at times I wonder will he shift out there every now and then when isak goes through the middle.
4 out of 4 is a great start. Just need some improved performances and hope our defence don't get injured.
A lot of changes in the team so it will take time to bed in.
Wirtz did a bit in the box and norrowly curled the ball past the post and had another effort/shot/cross that should have been been put away by somebody.
He, like the rest of the team had no real space to work in. He/we did improve a little in the second half.
Robbo put in some excellent balls from the left. One of which should have been converted by Chiesa.

I've still got no worries about Wirtz. It's only a matter of time before someone with that level of technical ability will flourish. His first touch and weight of pass is absolutely phenomenal.
I think he just needs to get used to the team, and them to him. As it doesn't appear that he's got that Stevie G 'give to me' kind of confidence. Yet.

How many are expecting a showreel like this from Wirtz in 2025/26
To date - this is a better player.
No way we lose him if Klopp is here. The arm chair keyboard warrior experts will say we got great money for a lad almost 30… And while that’s technically true - what have we replaced it with…?
Not the same kind of player at all.
I mean you wouldn't compare Thiago to Diaz?
