So, given the context that Palace wouldn't sell without his replacement, and the player they wanted moved elsewhere, how would moving earlier and bigger have helped them land their replacement.

We all have ideas of who we'd sign. But there's little evidence other additions prevented us from landing Guehi.

Moving earlier gives them more time to get someone in. Come on, you know that. The deal was effectively done until Glasners said not a chance cos I can't get anyone in.

Moving at the beginning of the window gives em plenty of time to get a replacement. We can argue they still dont get one, but at least they would have had 6 weeks as opposed to 24 hours. In my opinion we left it way too late. Also, this is a player costs between 70 to 80 if he isn't in the last year.


Hopefully we go back in, in January for him.

Sorry I know he won the title last season, albeit with Klopp’s squad but I cannot for the life of me see what Slot is trying to do.

Allowing Diaz to leave rather than paying him the going rate now looks a huge mistake, Gakpo has been absolutely terrible.

Chiesa’s goal contribution per minutes played is easily the best of any of the forwards but Slot refuses to use him properly… absolutely baffling.

He took off 3 of his starting back four and replaced two of them with our best midfielders, wtf???

Salah wasted attack after attack either giving the ball away or blazing it miles over and yet he brings on Endo rather than replace Salah with Chiesa… again why,??

He’s got an awful lot to sort out and it’s not getting any better.

Definitely a rebuilding phase, we aren’t getting anywhere near the league title this year and if we continue in Europe like we did midweek… then we will be lucky to get through to the knockout stages.

And the squad is still glaringly short in three key positions, I hope he can see it.

Pretty sure the manager having just won the league title would be in a pretty strong position to have his say on players.

Klopp always said it was he who had the last word on players, I imagine it’s the same now

Not sure he does miller. Slot is a coach. It’s clear to me he just puts out the best players from what he has at his disposal. This is the model the club has gone for to try and supplement for the premature loss of miracle worker of Jurgen Klopp.

One thing I will say that no one else seems to mention, Johnny Heitinga left to go to Ajax.
