Szobo to a lesser extent. Macca is in bad form right now. We really need a Mascherano player to do that job. Also, others are not pressing like they should be. Wirtz is not, Salah is not, Isak is not. Players like Grav and Szobo are doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the team right now.
    Very good points well made.

But I think it's far bigger than just Trent. Look how many players have gone straight into that team. You can't do that and expect synergy. This is fundamentally a different team now. They will need to find out how to function at the elite level as a group in one of - if not the most the most competitive leagues in Europe.. This is where management comes in.. Do we have the staff to do that? I guess we will find out shortly
The whole amount of 2 new players that started excluding the goalie against chelsea??????

Stop using that excuse, it's boring, other teams have made new signings and seem to be doing well...

but teams like Arsenal got what they actually needed, shock

Meanwhile we can't score against chelsea with 4 cbs out and 2 that went off injured and they go and get the winner

because of those 2 players that started, Kerkez and 125m isak yep

It's a fair point about new players v Chelsea. We created chances to score but couldn't convert. Mo missed some and looked miles off form. Last season he probably would have put at least one away which disguised the fact that we weren't playing great at times.

If Isak could start to find the net it might take some pressure off. Even under Jurgen at times we didn't play well but still won the game.

That's not fair kev. We aren't talking about one game here though are we.. and it's the effect on the team that has gone before. Watch the first game v Bournemtout after the loss to Palace at Wembley.. We won 4:2 - but could easily have lost
The team has been integrating multiple new players. 2x new Fb - 2x new front men.. before we mention Florian.

You can't just flip a switch and say go back to where you were before with Diaz up wide left or through the middle and Trent at RB pushing up into Midfield.. You can't ignore the summer spent changing the format to integrate Wirtz. The fact that Szoboxzlai has been playing half his games at FB rather than part of a 3 with Macca and Grav... That's before we even mention the 2 new number 9's..

Here we goooooooo Stevo getting arsey as usual when someone disagrees

get a grip what you said doesn't change the fact only 2 new players started against Chelsea, how many new players have they got?

They had to throw a defense in that have hardly played together then even 2 of them went off injured, and you're still making excuses

I am not getting arsey in the slightest my little Kevykin... You seem very delicate..

Just suggesting you behave (friendly comment where I come from) - I could have called you 'soft lad' for trying to use one game as the - be all and end all - regarding what we have lost since Trent went... but I didn't.

it's much bigger than that. As mentioned that many players is extremely tough. Clearly the people behind the scenes felt we needed to change massively..that we were a team on it's last legs.

Chelsea is one game...What about Palace? - we should be 4 or 5 down at HT..
    Galatasaray...?
Everton Second half? went from decent to outplayed by a bunch of donkeys.

We have been performing poorly in most games just escaping with goals at the death...rinse and repeat.

Trent is one thing... This is far bigger for a kick off.

For the record Kev - if you weren't so sensitive, you might have spotted that I am agreeing with your points on this season overall - and even on the Chelsea game - in isolation..... they are totally correct - but suggesting it isn't fair to single out that one game as a basis for the discussion around our general form and the effect of Trent's departure on it.

How Chelsea coped better than us with 4 and then 6 CB's out AND no Palmer is a huge worry... But you suggested I was using the integration of multiple players as an excuse.. Well I am because it is. Teams have managed it before - but it usually causes huge upheaval.
