Slots Summer Squad Rebuild 2025/26

After each game being played its starting to look like we've spunked 116 million on a luxury player who might not be able to handle pace of the premiership. I wonder what we would look like if instead we spent that money on two quality centre backs. Lost out on Guehi, Leoni out for a year. Left with injury prone and brain fart Gomez & Konate. Virgil, these days seems to be leaning further back in his arm chair. Lets hope buying a luxury player doesn't cost us this season, when most of us were more concerned with lack of centre backs.

It's a head-scratcher. You would have thought that slot had a plan in mind for him. Right now it doesn't look like it. Who should drop out for him? Szobo and Grav are undroppable right now. Should we drop macca and play the other two behind wirtz? That's not Szobo's natural position.

If we stick with our normal midfield then he needs to play upfront. But he's more of a 10 than a winger.

Is slot planning to move to a more traditional front 2 where wirtz plays off isak? Then where does Ekitike go? Or gakpo.

So many questions. Let's hope someone has put some thought into this

Slot has mulite times macca didn't have a proper preseason so I'm hoping that's it with him.

Salah, has jotas death affected him deeply. We have seen the open emotion from him.

Konate, seems to be gone. Like he has made his mind up to leave and his head isn't with it.

Wirtz, new player, needs plenty of time. But right now he looks light weight and our system doesn't suit him. Which begs the question why we bought him?

Well after a lucky start to the season, with bad results and injuries now kicking in. Feeling like one of those seasons, going to be a long one. Most of us knew not bringing in a centre back nor getting in a proper 6 would hurt us. Jota & Diaz have been a big lost. We’ve got too many issues to be competitive this season.

Needs to arrest this - first time that I can recall since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp that we’ve seen this scenario so noticeable. No surprise it’s one of Klopp’s players making the call either.

With the enemy next up - it’s time to get back to basics.

I remember seeing Mo do exactly the same thing with I think Nunez after Mane and Bobby had left. He'd gone chasing but nobody was backing him up.

Great rebuild when we'll need 4-5 players still next summer

Some pace on the wings... no6 x2cbs... future salah rotation option or replacement who knows...... LW/RW possibly a backup for Kerkez

Don't see the grand plan myself, we've improved CF wise, got worse at LW, at the moment we're worse at RB too not sure about LB but doesn't beat a prime robbo & and midfield with Slot changing gravs role for some unknown reason, Meanwhile Salah VVD etc year older.

at least we got a young CB in, shame he got injured but wasn't the answer for the short-term anyhow.

Not to mention when konate buggers off for free, VVD will be 35, gomez is made of glass and not the best and Leoni will still not be back.. that's if he gets over it in the first place, teams know we'll be desperate for CB's we have to sign one in january there's no ifs or buts, we simply have to buy a CB, if we wait till the summer we're asking for trouble

Not as bad as that kev. Did need to land Guehi - and a 6 but didn't prioritise them.. Would have been much more seamless had we done that...

But we haven't bought shyte either...hopefully they start to show their ability soon. Broken record here: but it takes time to integrate that many. Virgil's don't grow on trees, nor do Luis Diaz's... Mo Salah's or Sadio Mané's - or at least they don't when a manager of Jurgen's ilk isn't around. Most take time to integrate and Jurgen himself never integrated that many in one hit.

Begs the question for some...why so many changes? But I think those of us who watched the games last season know the answer.. Trent - Luis - Konate... all showing that they aren't emotionally tied to the club ... maybe it's knocked some of the unity in the camp?

Gakpo the only option on the left... no pace one trick pony name a more predicitable footballer apart from joe allen/Jones.... 17 year old kid who's raw as hell ?

Chiesa going to replace salah ? and start most games?

Heck even Endo's getting past it

Agree we left ourselves too much to do in one summer. That's the problem with relying on a miracle worker.
