Going to be the same next season too though, surely?

Not sure we had to spend over 200m on a AMC and a striker over other areas-- sure they'll come good but yeah.

IF we can get Wirtz to be a bit of a Coutinho.. become that huge threat - it allows Salah Ekitike and Isak the space to become prolific - all 3. Now that must be the plan. Wirtz IS trying the right bals - just taking a fraction too long.. He will need to get up to the speed and intensity of the Prem...

If it clicks we'll all be calling this summer a masterstroke. It can happen.. The question is -- when....

Plenty talk about our problems defensively with Couts - but they came from a starting point of Moreno at LB - Sakho & Skrtel and or Emre Can at CB FFS and Clyne at RB.. often with Can and Lucas in the mdidle...with Mignolet or Karius in goal... I mean imagine that side with every piece in place after the Coutts money was spent plus Coutts.

Robertson being integrated slowly - not even in the squad for most games before Christmas ...but by the time of Coutts last game - the 2:1 home victory v a strong Leicester side - we were undefeated when both played that season. Failing to win any of the 4 games Robbo missed after Coutts was sold. Trent also a kid and missing 14 of the 25 games that took place before Coutts left.

This guy highlights it about 1 minute 20 sec:

Have said it before - I have us winning v Real in Kiev.. not keeve ...no in Kiev... and more major titles too.. It could be amazing IF they get it to work with Wirtz.. Don't have a Prime Salah - Mane and Bobby tho..

6 and CB are equally important, we can’t continue to be so easy to score against.
Remember the stat, 16 times since the start of last season, we have conceded 2 or more in away games, the most in the Prem.

That’s bloody appalling and THE most urgent fix we need

Hendo Fab Gini was predicted to be a better midfield for balance than one with Coutinho in it. Thats what we saw. And that prediction was based on statistical anaylsis. The stats showed it, and as ever you spouted absolute bollocks and doom. Now years later you forget, again.

Ill give it about 2 weeks before you're back talking absolute bollocks about Artetas injury crisis spiel you have, as shown by basic analysis, the gap predated their injury crisis...

Where are you getting this stat from ?

    2024/25 season
    Played 19 away
    Conceded 25

    2025/26 season
    Played 4 away
    Conceded 6

25+6= 31 goals conceded in PL since start of last season over 23 away games.

I mean if youre including 5 away games in the CL groupstages, the KO round away, the EFL cup games and FA cup to get 16 times conceding 2 or more goals away from home, the most in the PL... well it seems rather silly to present data in that manner.

We've needed to address those areas for a fair number of seasons. Given that they haven't been addressed despite being obvious to anybody who has the slightest clue about football, you have to ask the question as to who is to blame for not addressing those problem positions?

In my opinion this failure can only be attributed to either the owners, those in charge of recruitment, the manager, or a combination of those groups or individuals.

Right I've got 16 games "away from home" including the charity shield & EFL cup final since last season where 2 or more were conceded.

Conceded 2 away at Toon this year in PL. Won 2-3.
    Lost 2-1 @ cfc
    Lost 2-1 @ Palace
Conceded 2 v palace in Charity shield.

    Last year in PL

    Won
    2-3 @ Southampton
    3-6 @ Spurs

    Draw
    2-2 @ the bitters
    2-2 @ Arsenal
3-3 @ Newcastle Robbo, Gomez, VVD. Quansah.
    2-2 @ Villa

    Lost
3-1 @ cfc Tsimi, Konate, Quansah, Trent
3-2 @ Brighton Tsimi, Konate, Quansah, Bradley
    3-2 @ Fulham

    Other comps

    CL
Lost 3-2 @ PSV (kids played in our last games iirc)

    EFL Cup
    Won 2-3 @ Brighton

EFL Cup Final - Conceded 2 there.

Well said, not much of a rebuild in my opinion when we've got a lot of work still to do after spending 460m

More like replacing players we've lost(Frimpong>Trent, Wirtz>Diaz (Different position I know, rather we got a LW personally butheyho) Isak/Ekiteke>Nunez/Jota Leoni>Quansah and still got the same issues as before, with the added bonus of less depth, not to mention VVD, Salah robbo getting older.... yeah I know robbo isn't really a first teamer anymore, but he's still a good backup.

Now we're not even playing gav further back like last season..... it's just all madness makes no sense to me, I wish I knew what slots plan was, in the short-long term, too. can't keep playing Maca&Grav every game, same with VVD/Konate fucking madness.... don't worry tho super rhys williams and endo to the rescue cmon...... sold all them players, but they're still with us, jones is only with us because he's english, same with Gomez and gomez good he can play across the back.

Shouldn't have had to be worrying about certain players in certain positions burning out or getting injured because we should've fixed it in the summer, we're playing with fire again, few injuries it's game over, Like I said I think heads should roll over this, looking at the transfer staff and people behind the scenes because it's a joke, at least FSG spent money this season for once, shame we've fucked it up and not got what we've even needed

The summer window just gone, and going into the season with this squad is like how we've been playing living it on the edge, doesn't take much to go wrong and it's already started.

I'm sure isak and wirtz will come good, but even then on a whole- I don't see how it's a amazing window, we've got worse in some regards, and a misfiring top amc and striker at the moment, who I do believe will be the upgrades to the team, but not sure about everywhere else, and alot weaker on the left.

Arsenal have done it right, I hate the cunts but look at that squad, and now in future they can splash out on top tier players, because the squad is covered, positions are sorted- and now they can sign some big boys as upgrades, like we should've done with Wirtz- only if we got the no6 and CB sorted, possibly LW too, not gonna lie lads rather have Arsenals squad and youngsters.... great age range tbf get a top LW and possibly another top midfielder, they're laughin

Away from home last year, we won the most points in the league and had the best goal difference.

We were 3rd for goals conceded, 4 worse off than cituae & 8 worse off than arsenal for the season away from home.

We conceded 6 away from home in 2 of our last 4 PL games.
