Commented on this before the game, he's talking a bit too much latley..

He speaks very well, but it’s true - no need to be giving the opposition a heads up..

Give the press sweet FA. Nada - nothing but spiel not insight.

Indicate left…then right….and go straight ahead.

    Just a thought

Talking about us getting a throw-in, winning a couple of free-kicks, not forcing passes that weren't on, that sort of thing.

It's "the basics" and yet it's the very stuff a number of our lads seem to be totally allergic to doing. A bit like the way Milner was the one player for us who'd be willing to take it to the corner flag towards the end of a match once in a while when everyone else would try to force a goal.

Doing the simple stuff well when a side isn't brimming with confidence is so important and that touch of "cuteness" (it wasn't exactly "dark arts" stuff or anything) needs to be in the team.
It's more the positioning of the two of them. For their goal, yet again both central midfielders are miles ahead of the ball.

Every time we lose the ball it's flip of a coin as to whether the opposition get in on goal.

Jones and Szobo can be partially forgiven for it as they're both attack minded so they're going to get caught high but when Grav and Mac are doing the same thing then to me it's by design.

Which, if is the case then that's entirely down to Slot. Until he plugs that hole we're going to get done time after time.

Salah should not be starting, tonight underlined that, 14 attempts on target.

Wirtz did .. bits. One good cut back for Dom and an assist but if you compare it to Szoboszlai’s contribution… man it’s light years away. Szoboszlai not only creates twice the amount of chances Wirtz does, he’s all over the pitch, tackling, intercepting, closing down.

Give me two Dom’s any day of the week
Yeah and alisson is a better keeper than wirtz.

I think Wirtz is starting to show his class. There's a lot of pressure because of the price tag. If he came in for about 50m, I think we'd all be saying, decent signing, shows promise. When he clicks he could be mighty. Ekitike is just great. Really like this guy. Knew nothing about him before. He's got good pace, desire, good eye for goal. He's got a lot. He's not exactly the same type but for us he's the player Nunez could have been. Frimpong - frustrating with injuries but I have good hope for him if he can stay fit. He's a threat.

    The jury's still out:
Kerkez - hasn't shown it yet and maybe being used in the wrong way. Hopefully we can let him play his own game and to his strengths.
Isak - a lot to be seen yet. The injury won't help. He did almost get on the end of one from Dom I think. Shame because he needed that boost. Might be a while before he clicks.

Let's play Gakpo Ekitike Chiesa/Salah for a while with Wirtz behind and get this show on the road.

Little has really hit the ground running, not just with his goals but his all round play has been excellent.
He must be starting games the form he’s in.

Wirtz has a long way to go to prove he is up to it in this League. Slight improvement in his last two appearances but still has a lot to do. If he’s playing over near Salah it’s almost like playing with 9 men when the opposition get the ball back. As our goals against column would suggest, we can’t afford that and it is definitely partly responsible for the amount of goals we’re shipping.

Wirtz is not a scapegoat, I don’t do scapegoating but I call it as I see it and so far he hasn’t contributed enough going forward to warrant the weakening of our defensive play, same goes for Mo Salah.

The latter rightly getting far more leeway but with the two of them on one side and MacAllister completely ineffective on the other side, something’s gotta give, somewhere or we will continue to ship goals.

I would agree Wirtz is lightweight.
Currently, Isak, Mo, and Macca have been passengers too often. We can't carry that many players. If Mo or Isak start firing then you can make the case but currently they're not doing much for us.
