Slot has surely asked the recruitment team for a number 10. And surely his idea was to play 4-2-3-1.
I honestly don't believe Hughes and co have said to Arne - 'Here's a Ł100m number 10' make it work!!!

I would call that a lack of recruitment. Seems nuts after we signed so many - but we let plenty go too - across the last 2 summers...
The players we have signed looked to be top class, but it's easy to argue that we didn't need them all before landing a 6 and a CB..
Beyond the FB's had we replaced Diaz or payed him what he wanted all we needed was to replace Nunez and Jota.. Wirtz is the baffling one.. Why was that prioritised..? That money lands Guehi and a top class 6..

Who knows but the clear definition of Slot’s role would suggest he is just the coach
No, I totally understand that, and it takes me back to Rafa's quote about lamps and sofas!
I just can't believe he wasn't part of the discussion.

Agree with the above posts. Its weird that they would prioritise wirtz. Getting two very similar strikers is a bit weird too.
Didn't Jurgen fall out with Hughes and Co at the end. Maybe he was onto something with them.
Was just watching a bit of martin o neil and Martin keown on talk sport. Martin o neil was basically saying that the new signings make sense in order to add quality to what was a winning team.
He also said in a crisis you've got to pull together and make yourself hard to beat again.
All good logic and common sense - just one thing.. It's Martin O'Neil... Not exactly known for any genuine insight is he?
