No wirtz unless he's playing in the front 3 as a forward. Go back to 433. We can't play a front 3 and a no. 10, the no.10 role/player may work with a front 2 though.
Been saying that from day one Syd, totally agree

Agree mate he has to play off the left in a three and leave three real midfielders In the centre .
I simply can’t understand the reasoning in the change of formation
We don’t have attacking mids to play either side, we have wide forwards better played up making runs in behind, our most suitable player to operate as an attacking mid was Diaz and we sold him
It’s a nonsense 2 wide forwards up makes them leave 3 or 4 back
A lone forward up is easily picked up by either CB
A 9 who can play up and drop deeper right across the line would work rather than a 9 and a 10
1 up limits your opportunities for variation and switches and medium to long diagonals to release players and break shape and lines considerably and makes you have to pass it shorter and be more predictable & easier to defend
We’re not playing to the majority of our players greatest strengths in Slot’s fucked up fanrasy
2 of the best front foot 1v1 CBs going, if you have a midfield 3 that work with the full backs and always have pressure on the ball
4 great attacking full backs being made to look like liabilities because we’re a midfielder short to cover their runs and deeper forward players both sides restricting their space and failing to manipulate space for them as Mane & Robbo & Mo & Trent always did so well between them
Robbo’s was about the only back to front ball we’ve played successfully this season, because we don’t have the wide forwards up
I feel Ekitike can play across the line deeper and up top and when he does drop to receive and lay off we need the two wide players up and for him to have the option of one back to pick out either 2 forward
All those things are disappearing from our play with each passing game
If you have a lot of the ball without discipline in your positioning and pressing positions and not getting to many ahead of the ball a good pressing side not even a great one can undo you, it’s why City dumbed down their tappy crappy after 19-20
In the Prem there are too many good and better pressing sides than ever for a side to play as Slot is attempting his diamond Wirtz shows his misjudgement in believing it will work in the Prem, he’s bought a player too slow in what he does and too fragile
