In the end he will surely show his quality. He’s a top class player… BUT he has to adapt to a totally different league. It’s not like we’ve bought a pile of shyte.

Question is when will we see it and how will it manifest in this team. I see him now as a potentially brilliant super sub to come on and finish games off - OR to unpick a lock. Not probably what the board want from a £100 million player but still..

Start form there - integrate him slowly. As he gains confidence at this level then take stock and see IF he can play a more central role. Robbo wasn’t thrown straight in starting games nor was Fabinho… Robbo was already Prem proven too.

Throwing him in - with new FB’s and or Szobozlai in there & missing from the midfield - new forwards in Ekitike and Isak…. no Diaz or Jota…. well it’s asking too much imo - might work in Holland - not here

Agree with this....Arne has thrown too many of the new signings in all at once,hasn't worked as hoped...We looked much better last night with just Ekitike starting from the new lads + Marma inda goal innit guv...

There’s no doubting that he’s a quality player , but it all depends on his ability to play on the left now in a front 3 , he has to play there and make a huge impact , the only issue he would have is his apparent lack of proper pace and physicality , would I prefer to have spent that money on a kvaratshelia or a brilliant winger ,yes I would of

What's probably a bit more frustrating about the whole situation is the fact that Isak and Frimpong are both injured. At least if they were in the team a bit more and start showing what they can do it wouldn't feel so bad that Wirtz has been a let-down so far. Isak you would imagine will produce at some stage as he's proven in the Prem. Frimpong has already shown in flashes what he can do. Ekitike has been great so far.

So at least that would be 3 out of 5 new signings that would be firing. I think we'd all feel a bit better about it.
