Not easy to get players to perform when they're tired - or not happy etc. I maintain they won it last year for the man who built that team. They looked cooked before they won they even did it tho..and haven't looked any better since

Soon after this is was appraent Liverpool FC would not meet what he and his agent believed to be fair

I'm sorry, but that doesn't say to me,.... "They didn't meet my wage demands, so I made the decision to leave".....

    Or....

"I felt unwanted or pushed out at Liverpool"

....as you're trying to intimate was his stated position

That says to me, "We're still in negotiations with the club and if we get an extension we like, I'll be happy.
And if we don't. I'll be happy for the two years remaining on my contract."

He literally says he'll be happy either way.->
" If they give us a good renewal or I stay there for two years, I'll be happy."

That was obviously made while he was still negotiating a contract improvement.
It would help your argument better if you have a quote of him commenting on his feelings of them declining to meet his demand. Particularly one that underlines that it was that, more than anything that lead to him leaving.

    As you wish....

    Luiz Diaz' own words.
    Not FSG.

And obviously translated from Spanish as that's the language he speaks.
If you have an issue with that, take it up with the Spanish Colonial Empire and their colonisation of the new world and South America.

Bolded and Underlined parts for emphasis : -

"What attracted me was Bayern’s expectations, because it’s no secret that they're a very big club. I already knew a lot about what Bayern are about. They came for me, they believed in me. That was a really important point in choosing them and joining........

""I kept progressing, went to Barranquilla FC, which is a really professional club. After that I went to Junior de Barranquilla, which is one of the clubs I’m going to remember most because they gave me the chance to be a professional, to grow, to enjoy good years there. After that, I went to Porto for two and a half years. I didn’t do badly......

Things actually moved on quickly and I later went to Liverpool. A lot happened there, and now I’m here, thanks to God. It’s been an unbelievable career. Thinking back, it’s been spectacular because it’s never been easy given the circumstances – very difficult circumstances. But I’ve learned to endure and overcome adversity. And now we’re here. Thanks to God, we’re all well and happy.”

I'm sure you'll find issue with that quote (his own words, I'll emphasize), for you to dismiss them,....

Right before you provide a quote of him also stating that he left us because he felt unwanted or his wage demands weren't met as he was demanding. Preferably after the fact like other players like Hendo and Mane have done.
And preferably not from when he was still in the middle of contract negotiation with the club and wasn't likely to express his honest opinion for fear of disrupting the negotiation.

Either that ....putting up.....or.....shut up..... as you so eloquently put it before.

Last Saturday we won but we were so fortunate. Villa hit the woodwork twice - gifted us a goal and Gravs strike was a wicked deflection - like one of Cities today. We could be 2 down at home last week with ease. Got a result - again at home under the lights.

Tuesday night and we were superb... dominated Real and the price was that today..

So 22 of August almost an entire month after he is already signed for Bayern. Toilet paper... like I said.

Maybe you are playing stupid but you are unable to supply anything that shows Diaz "wanted to leave" ... He didn't he decided to leave.. totally different AND we all know why.. He was never going to get the salary from F$G he was so obviously worthy of.

Oh and I never said he was pushed out either - this reads like an invented narrative to try and make your claim more valid.

It's super succinct and is where it's at. No pushing out - just an issue over wages - and a massive blunder... that's it

I thought they played well against villa. Pressed much better and put in effort. Madrid was a step up again.

Then today, the effort was gone. Why it's gone, haven't a clue.
Could it be that we only put in the effort at home? Then that's unacceptable and down to the manager to sort.
Was the effort on the last 2 matches why we were out of steam today? Same team from Tuesday to today? Then the manager needs to sort that also.

Even after all that, the 2 goals came from our 2 CBs lacking concentration. Ekitike should have closed gonzalez down quicker but after that virgil is so lazy. Player issue there, but ultimately up to the manager to sort.

I guess I'm now saying slot needs to sort these lads out. I dunno, been a tough day

Oh yes.. happy with the 2 wins.. but to win all 3 - playing like we have this season... that would be beyond a stretch...

A day more rest too our lads had... and that

Framing Luis Diaz's actions as pure greed rather than a pursuit of parity fundamentally misrepresents the financial context of his departure. The indisputable fact is that Diaz, a consistent starter and critical component of Liverpool's attack, was criminally underpaid relative to his direct peers in the squad. He was reportedly earning a base salary significantly lower than forwards like Diogo Jota and Darwin Núñez, despite often matching or exceeding their contributions. His demand was not for Mohamed Salah money, but for a contract that simply reflected his indispensable status in the starting 11. When Liverpool's management, citing his age or wage structure constraints, refused to offer this necessary raise and correct the disparity, the power lay entirely with the player to seek fair market value.

This was not a sentimental drama but a cold, hard business decision on his part. When Bayern Munich immediately offered him a deal reported to be three times his base Liverpool salary, securing the financial parity and recognition he was seeking, Diaz chose to accept. His exit was the logical consequence of a club refusing to adequately reward one of its star performers when his contract leverage was highest. To suggest he was a mercenary is to ignore that he was simply operating as a professional in a global marketplace, choosing the employer who was willing to meet his objectively reasonable valuation - a valuation Liverpool chose to ignore.
I'm not the one suggesting he was a mercenary.

    It's you all that are.

I stated that he CHOSE to leave - whether it be because he felt Bayern were a better fit for him in this career (as he implied in his own comments), or because they were paying him better than he had wanted from Liverpool (and we don't even know for a fact that that's what he's being paid. It's easy to say "deal reported to be three times his base Liverpool salary" when you don't have to substantiate it nor when you don't even know what the counter-offer was from Liverpool that he declined when taking up Bayern's offer).

Something he corroborated in those comments he made

You're the ones that are automatically assuming that it was solely and exclusively because of financial renumeration reasons (despite his own comments).
I highlighted his own comments where he doesn't state this to be the case and points out the (other) reasons why he joined them.

Incidentally, also from his own comments and that quote that YOU provided he stated that he'd be happy either way - to get the contract improvement extension he was seeking, or to play out the final two years of his current contract (and ostensibly seek a better opportunity after that).

    He literally said that.
    And you quoted him.

Make what you will of that.

So either he was lying then, just as he lied in his stated reasons as I invited you to call him out for, which you've declined.

Or there was more to his departure than just,..."Well, Liverpool didn't offer him what he was looking for, so he went for the next best bidder."........which in itself sounds like someone being mercenary.

But I'm not the one making that argument.

I dont blame Diaz for taking the biggest offer on the table, but it does seem a few people have difficulty in accepting thats what he did. In the end we got a decent fee for him.

"Public anger flared after it was revealed that Díaz attended an influencer event in Colombia on July 6 — the same day as Jota’s funeral. Videos showing Díaz laughing, dancing, and posing at the event quickly circulated online, drawing widespread criticism.

Marca harshly criticized the winger, “While nearly all of Liverpool’s players mourned the death of a teammate, Díaz chose to attend a promotional event in Colombia as part of a sponsorship deal. Videos even showed him dancing. He should remember that Jota was one of the people who supported him the most when he joined Liverpool.” Facing growing backlash, Díaz deleted the videos but has not issued a formal apology or explanation."

Thats about the only bad thing I have to say about Diaz.
At the end of July Diaz got his move to Bayern. About 3 weeks after Jotas funeral.

Trent left his boyhood club for Real for a small fee.

And yet we signed the bad egg Isak as per the media reporting.
Because he betrayed Newcastle by joining LFC...

If you are stating that he chose to leave.. there is no argument.. He absolutely did choose that. Don't we all know that?

I also don't think he was in any way mercenary.. He simply was after a fair wage for his level and importance to the side and due to the club's wage structure he found himself out in the cold.

Virgil and Mo wanted their contracts sorted too.. Diaz is about to turn 29 remember.

His quote to me at least is clear. He wants more money - the club wont budge.. he decides to leave.

We should have offered him more then we did.. That is all
