Totally agree. Who'd have thought after spending all that wedge in the summer they would need to go out again to rectify things.
Just shows what kids in a sweetshop can be like, totally at odds with the measured approach they usually go with. Bought what they wanted rather than needed but that's a hindsight.
None of us were complaining though it has to be said, a few of us had concerns about too many really.
Some players might actually think twice when looking at our current situation it seems that unstable. They'll be wondering who they'll be playing under next season if Slot is the one still there in January.

That's the thing too. Would you come into our club right now? Would you have faith based on the way he's managed new players so far?

Definitely not in January. No way would Palace risk potentially losing out on a European trophy.

    Depends on the player.

Plenty wouldn't, but loads of lads have the ego/self-belief (not always a bad thing) to think "I'll be the one that fixes this" or "I've a chance to get European football with this team" or "I am the signing that makes this work" - etc etc

I could imagine a DM for example enjoying being part of a midfield that includes options like Szoboszlai, Gravenberch and Mac Allister - or a central defender who backs themselves to be Van Dijk's eventual replacement - or a winger who takes the baton from Salah and has lads with the finishing power of Isak and Ekitike to pass the ball to.

As much as things are on the brink for us if we have another bad run of results, there's also loads of potential here. An imbalanced squad for sure - but plenty of quality there - biggest question at the moment is the Manager.

Insidious, I think you are giving footballers too much credit. Most, if not all footballers are almost entirely focused on making the most money at a club that will offer them the best chance of success. They really aren't concerned about things such as whether they could be our next VVD or Salah.

If a club whose team looks well organised, are currently playing winning football, and look like they will win silverware comes in for a player, as long as they are offering similar wages to us, there is a good chance that they won't join us, especially given that we are currently a bit of a clown show.

If you have a short period of time to get to a particular destination, what car would you pick if you had a choice between a clown car where the wheels and doors look like they are about to fall off, or a reliable car from a quality car company such as a mid to high range Mercedes?

People are convinced that Guehi has given us his word that he'll be joing us either in January or in the summer, but if we don't start showing some serious improvement on the pitch, I can see him going elsewhere.

A lot will depend on where we are in January.

For me there are 4 senior players that could move in January that would be seismic in terms of departures.

    Mo, VVD, Konate & Maca.

I think a lot of our problems this season come down to their performances & attitudes.

When it comes to the dressing room being lost, VVD & Mo seem to be the stand out guys.
Both were awful v psv and Jones did the talking post match after their performances.

Salah will go down as a legend but hes been like this before doing pressers like tonight when Klopp was in charge.

It's the 1st time Virgil has disappointed at LFC for me, but he's been shocking this season.

For me, it is similar to utd with Jose. You can sack the manager all you like but you need to get the players out who'll tank our club when it suits them.

If MacA & Konate want real they can leave too.

Clear as day that many others are giving it their best. As a man once said, attitude is more important that talent.

Good points. Salah is acting like a diva and it's not a good look but it does highlight something is clearly wrong backstage.
Absolutely right about some giving it their best but it only takes one or two at this level to be below their best and before you know it it results in this situation.
What id like to know is what has started all this. Where did it begin? Hope to God we aren't at a point that Utd were where there was real poison in the camp.
