Obviously nobody is saying just do the same.. Slot was forced into that with injury - sickness and Mo's outburst...

But I suggest looking closely at what worked last night would be a very smart idea going into the league game v the Seagulls.

We have a dreadful record at home of late, and not just due to defensive deficiency though it has played a huge part. Yes we need goals too IF we want to win games but stopping the rot at the back is a must. Then build on it. We have Hugo (why was he ever benched?) who looks a superb player...His movement last night was exceptional. Build it around him for now.

Chiesa was unwell for last night hopefully he is back for Brighton.. IF Slot will play him...! Wouldn't mind seeing him in tandem with Hugo or Alexander. I think IF Chiesa plays last night - we score goals from open play and win as comfortably as our play deserved. Inter barely laid a glove on us. One header is all I remember.

Yes Brighton a different test, but we have to start winning our home games at the very least.

Get stuffed at home 4-1 against PSV then go and win against Inter away....Kinda sums this team up this season.....

    Why?
Klopps best team always picked itself same 4 3 3,same players.
Let others worry about us,start with best formation and adapt if needed during game.

What worked last night didn't involve Chiesa. It's a big mental leap to think he could come in and improve us further. I don't see that myself. Our wide players haven't produced enough this season including Mo. I'd give Frimpong a run of games on the right side when he's fit.

We won't play 2 forwards every game. Most of the time it will be Wirtz and one of Isak or Ekitike. That should explain why Ekitike was benched. One of the two will find themselves regularly on the bench.

No matter what formation Slot plays we should have more than enough quality to beat the likes of Brighton, Sunderland, Leeds, etc. Formation isn't the most important thing.

Inter were pressing and trying to win the game which left space for Ekitike to use his pace. Him running the channels was really effective last night and caused them problems. Brighton will come to Anfield and play a low block. There won't be the same space to run into so we need to find a different way to break them down.

You need a manager of Klopp's class for that. Once in a lifetime..To get that intensity from players across an entire season is really really tough. United lost that when Fergy went. We know for a fact Slot isn't in that league. Slot will have to be clever - more like Rafa.. more pragmatic. He isn;'t getting players to run through brick walls for him.

As for the low block analogy - What did Forrest do? What about PSV? What about Sunderland?

While it's true we can't just go like for like with the game last night. NObody saying - that's it 0 the solution is in place... I would much rather not concede goals as a basis. Look like we can control what happens on the pitch. We have players who can fashion a chance and score. Chiesa saved SLots job the other day. Play him
