Thread: Salah Situation

And respect to Jockstrap for saying it how it is while most are kissing Mo's ass just to get at Slot. Be careful what you wish for....you might end up with Glasner 😝

Two little ducks went out one day,
Over the hills and far away.
Mother Duck said, "Quack, quack, quack,"
But only one little duck came back…. 🤔

ive read that salah has invited his parents to todays game, not sure how often they go but looking like he could be saying his goodbye's.
dont think he's recovered from jota's death and said at the time he would find it hard coming back to anfield.

Yep - does look like a farewell. Shame

And Agree about the impact of Jota’s death. Think Mo himself has underestimated how much that has taken from him - focus wise. This focus can be the difference between being the best and scratching around for a goal. Don’t think the consistent change of RB’s behind him has helped either and the loss of the threat from the opposite wing has been a hammer blow but that’s another story.

I’d think it’s hit plenty of others too but the most dramatic and noticeable effect is with Mo because he was the source of so many goals and assists. This is why the focus shifts to you more than any other. The core of his sense of being the scapegoat.

Grav’s form falls off a cliff and it goes under the radar much more. Macca ditto.. Konate can literally stink out - the very stink of the place and still get an automatic berth. Virgil - form gone.. This also hits the new players coming in massively too. So many new signings arriving at what they thought were champions BUT find key players sold or left and the rest in a state of mourning…

Regardless - it’s sad if this is Mo’s final appearance in a red shirt. True end of an era stuff

line up will be interesting,if he starts will only be subbed off if winning to a standing ovation.
if on bench, slots way of saying im the boss and only bringing salah on to finish infront of the kop.
lets send him off with a win and hope its not the end

Slot's handling of this was breathtakingly naive and spineless. You don't bench your best player in an age, top scorer, and assister that carried us to the title for three games on the bounce….then refuse to give him a single minute against Leeds while other lads who've been walking all season are still jogging around.

Naive imo.. what did he think was gonna happen? He didn't just bench Salah, he publicly humiliated him. He was all but guaranteed to get that explosive reaction. He was weak - something he has himself tried to deny… but it feels less like a manager setting boundaries and more like an order from the suits above. Slot was too weak to manage the player properly, so he was forced to drop the hammer to appease the Owner/Edwards/Hughes/ love triangle damaging his own credibility in the dressing room.

Slot made a bad situation worse by trying to look tough in the most idiotic way possible. He didn't show strength - imo he showed the squad he's a fool or a puppet.

Pathetic. Salah humiliated himself trying to get Slot sacked. He humiliated the club and many people have referenced Ronaldos interview with Piers Morgan for comparison.

Salahs a guy who uses his expiring contracts situation to maximise his own income at LFC.
Hes an Egyptian King, an Arab icon, and world star because of the opportunities afford to him by LFC.

The idea Seedorf gave Slot a lesson is laughable.

Some points on Mo from Slot's press conference:

“I think the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here,” Slot said. “You can keep on trying but there is not much more to say about it. After the Sunderland game there were a lot of conversations between his representatives and ours, between him and me.”
Slot said: “We decided as a club - and I was part of that decision - not to take him to Milan. I am always in contact with them [sporting director Richard Hughes and chief executive Michael Edwards] but when it comes to the decision making of the line-up or the squad, they leave that open to me. That’s not to say I don’t talk to them. Mainly Richard, not Michael. The decision to play a player or have them in the squad is entirely up to me. I have no reasons to not want him to stay. This club has won a lot of games with him.”

If slott didnt speak to him before leaving him out that was stupid and bad man management...

But what Mo did was even more stupid.

He's a grown ass man....knock on the Managers door and say what the fuck is going on ....respect should be mutual.

Edit: and by the way if Mo wasn't pissed off, then that would be the real problem.

If Slott didnt speak to mo the problem started with him..

No, the problem started with Mo's dip in form. He's the only person who can turn that around.

Footballers on 400K per week don't need your sympathy.

I doubt both Mo and Slot are here come the end of January. My guess is that only one of them will remain.

Perhaps Mo just needed a kick up the arse.
    And Arne Slot obliged.
