He's a brilliant player. We could sit and argue stats all day but fundamentally you can either see it or you can't. I suspect some are just looking for him to fail so don't want to see it. They are usually the ones mentioning the price.

As for pace and power, who cares.

Kenny, not the quickest nor strongest.
Beardsley, not the quickest nor strongest.
Coutinho, not the quickest nor strongest.
Firmino, not the quickest nor strongest.

And on and on.

To appreciate Wirtz you just need to know a little bit about football and how it's played. That's not a dig it's just a fact.

People are questioning his performances to date. Telling us all he's a brilliant player is laughable, when most of us were over the moon with his capture.

We know what he is capable of - some are simply are asking when will see it in this league.

IF you're on a charm offensive to try and dilute your own stench - perhaps add something of meaning - or troll off.

Oh And Kenny was one of the best at shielding the ball you will ever see. That's Strength and balance.. So too Bobby. Without both neither would have got close to legend status. Coutinho had some of the quickest feet going and was super fast off the mark - wicked Acceleration.. Beardsley could dribble very well but played in one of the finest Liverpool sides in history alongside the great John Barnes when he was one of the best footballers in the world..

I suggest getting to know the legendary players of the club you pretend to support first.. Do that and maybe stop the - No Shit Sherlock add ons like trying to tell us that 'Shankly was of a different time'. Add something other than your constant moaning about moaning and maybe you's get a Christmas card

I know what those players were capable of. I was the one who mentioned them and I'll take no lectures from you. The comparison was about power and pace which is an apt one, seeing as people like you harp on about Wirtz not having any pace. Do keep up.

Christmas Present for those who want to learn about top level.. Best technician Klopp ever had - tragic career loss and fall in form after leaving his mentor - but at his peak.. the best we had since Luis Suarez. Some might argue but they will just highlight how little they know about this game.

NO he wasn't the quickest over a long distance .. but super swift over the 3 yards that count... - if you understand what players learn at the academy and put out on the training ground - and still get flawed and made to look like chumps - you know what you are seeing.

Wirtz has come into a squad with a stink, it's been tough and he doesn't go hiding. Taking sometime to adapt, 2 solid performances back to back in the league ain't much, but hes settling in. He looks determined to succeed.

Then trying to justify it by showing a clip of a 5 yard pass my Mother could have made.

As far as I am concerned his best game was away in Frankfurt, he has not positively influenced a game since.

As miller said - Wirtz isn’t getting anywhere near the levels Coutinho was at for a numbers of years, he doesn’t have those tools. If you’re accepting of that - you won’t be too disappointed.

He has quality - that’s not in doubt - the question is how much and when will it shine? I am well aware that it takes time for many players - See Robert Pires… but most show something, as yet - I’m sorry -unless you have a low bar technically speaking - you won’t have seen anything worthy of even half the fee.

But he is 22, and he will get better than he has been thus far… Of that I am confident, But I am equally confident that he was massively overpriced... at least at his current level. You never know - in 2 years we might be saying he was a snip… That’s football

True - but I would add it was against a very powerful Real Madrid side - if you can play well v that - you’ll do well anywhere I think.

He lacks pace - but has quality. If he clicks it could be magic

If Wirtz gets halfway to the level of Luka Modric he will be rated as the greatest player m in history. Germany does not produce that level of technique. Kroos about as good as it gets for the Teutons… The Luka level is a pipe dream. But still IF Florian has the technique he can be a superb Premier league player. His size isn’t the issue. It might be IF he is to play the Bobby role - but won’t be IF he tries to emulate David Silva…

Yep he’s starting to become a genuine problem is Carra. Wish he’d refrain from getting emotional about us. But his loyalty is to the media these days. ingratiates himself to the club’s hierarchy for access but is putting it on our players with much of what he says. And if you want to prattle on about transfer fees, then we sold Coutinho for £140m, 7 years ago. We bought Wirtz for £100m. Ergo Coutinho should be 1.5 times the player Wirtz is. I believe Wirtz will be every bit as good as Coutinho so we got a bargain.
