The line from the club is …
Responsibility for preparing the team for set-pieces will be taken on by the rest of Liverpool's coaching staff.
OOh he's here again.. the man with the child in his eyes..
So...where did I blame Slot exactly?? Eh Kev.. where? I am saying he is no Jurgen Klopp - and if you want try to say otherwise be my guest. But I am not blaming our predicament on him and have never done so.. For the record.
Make a new years resolution, maybe start with English Language lessons. I am suggesting that at various stages people have tried to put the drop in form down to individual things. But it's far more tha. that.
Salah not scoring..
Konate going to shyte.
Virgil looking a pale imitation of his usual self.
Macca running in treacle
Grav not close to last seasons form.
No threat from Diaz..
etc etc.. on and on.. BUt what has all of the got to with our handling o set pieces. Very little . The fact that we have been shyte at defending them has no bearing on how shyte we were early season while winning and then later on while losing and recently while winning again.
I am suggesting that there is MUCH more to it. than any of these things in isolation.. The work rate is way way down and it has a massive effect on everything. Sorry that it gets you so mad and angry that you feel the need to start calling people clowns for suggesting their opinion.
Anyway - nice that you want someone to lose their job.. Pat yourself on the back..
I see we have our own - 3 wise men
What a trio..A front 3![]()
Maybe be but he was there last season when we won the title.. So according to some He won the title like Arne Slot did? Or we won the title using his tactics..? Can't have it both ways.
I am not suggesting he has been any good at all, just saying it's convenient for Edwards and Hughes and Arne Slot too to have him take the flak for out woeful defending. Why are we conceding so many set pieces? Why is our midfield so shyte? Does that have anything to do with him?
The work rate has gone and no amount of scapegoating will fix that .. in fact it might make it worse.
Slot is going to HAVE to find the charisma to get the players to do MORE than they have been doing this season. That's the crux of the issue. Good players don't just go to shyte over night.

He was in an analyst role last season - I suspect/speculate that he's maybe quite good in that role, but not cut out for the set piece role.
Perhaps we'll be able to reinstate him somewhere that suits his skillset?
To make a lazy comparison, some people are excellent at specific roles in retail like meet-and-greet of customers, but are shoddy working the till.
He was more than an analyst.
I believe his Acting Role for the (2024/25 Season)
Official Title: First Team Individual Development Coach.
https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/aaron-briggs-joins-liverpool-fc-backroom-staff
ACTUAL SCENARIO - Briggs joined in July 2024 to handle individual player development (replacing Vitor Matos). However, after Liverpool failed to hire a specialist set-piece coach that summer 2024, Briggs absorbed those responsibilities.
All that's actually changed is his official title
which this season.... Official Title: First Team Set-Piece Coach.
I may be wrong but that's as I understand it. And if so - seems harsh to blame this seasons failings all on him. We have been shyte in that regard but why so much more than last season?
One possibility is that last season actually nobody did anything and the team were just left alone to play as they had under the last manager? Eh Kev?

Anyway, he’s gone now. So you’ll have to find someone else to blame. I mean, it couldn’t be the players. Who could possibly expect them to clear the ball all on their own.
VOTE JOCKY tae fix this fiasco.
Thomas Gronnemark has opened the door to a return to Liverpool after previously serving as the club’s throw-in coach under Jurgen Klopp. The Dane first started working with the Reds in 2018 before leaving his role in 2023.
not saying it's all his fault, but he's meant to be making things better- he's not, therefore he's out, quite simple in any job really, it's not rocket science, he's not done a good enough job in his role, see you later.
It's not just defending them, may I remind you worst in europe liverpool FC, seriously? it's attacking also, we can barely beat the first man on corners, most of the time set-pieces are a waste of time in attack.
Things need to change, and hopefully they will in the future, this is a start
it's simply not good enough for liverpool FC
I don't know why anyone would want him to stay or support him, he's done a great job eh....
I do feel a bit bad for him, because he shouldn't have been doing the job in the first place imo
I'm delighted a Taxi has finally come for him, long time coming.... shame you didn't contribute earlier to the thread with your views stevo...
Next a taxi for some of the youth staff please, needs to be looked at asap and improved all over.
