The lad needs more development and whilst his ceiling is high, I don't think 67 appearances in the Belgian League are quite enough for us get (particularly) excited about. If he is arriving as 4th choice then fair enough - all for it as that's a different thing - but if he is arriving as a Konaté replacement to partner Van Dijk right away and play 25+ games per season or something then I think it's too early, ie "not ready".
Hopefully if he does come here he thrives right off the bat - who wouldn't want a new arrival for us playing well? Few things than a player exceeding expectations.
I've always appreciated player development more than "ready-made" but in an ideal World I'd really like to see him have a couple of years at a Brighton/Bournemouth first as I don't think he's there yet.

Quite right. You form an opinion based upon the evidence before you, or at least you should.
If new evidence is provided you are (or at least should be) ready to change your opinion on said new evidence. You shouldn’t blindly stick to your original opinion, that would be ridiculous.
