We also had a lot of players to use for rotation to help keep first team players fit. This season the squad istripped right down which hasn't helped.

In a traditional setup it would be 'a manager.'. but as there isn't an active manager at all and instead:

Michael Edwards : CEO of Football (Fenway Sports Group)
Scope: Edwards does not work solely for Liverpool FC; he works for the owners (FSG). He sits above the club in the hierarchy.

Richard Hughes : Sporting Director
Scope: Hughes is the primary executive actually working at Liverpool FC on a daily basis. He is the "boss" at the training ground (AXA Training Centre).

Arne Slot : Head Coach
Scope: Unlike Jürgen Klopp, who was a "Manager," Arne Slot is a "Head Coach." This is a crucial distinction.


I suggest there actually is no manager at the moment dues to the complete balls up of a setup. part of the changes that Macca likely alluded to when saying he prefers to keep it to himself. He mentiond players coming and going but the rest was missing.

Not really - what he had to do he did well. But perhaps - as he himself suggested - he didn't have that much to do save pick the best players he inherited and play them over and over again, somehow escaping an injury pile up.

AND it looks very much as though - in that transition from heavy metal football to the turgid football we are witnessing now and the lethargy we saw at the back end of last season - the team that Klopp built found a good balance. Enough to win the title in a year when both major rivals were struggling.

I know you don't want to face it.. but that is a likely possibility.
