Doubt we're a big catch at the moment, probably restricted transfer wise due to the summer spend, and a lot of work to do and some very ordinary players that need to be replaced.
Squads kinda far off still with Salah and VVD towards the end too.
and a broken 135m striker, it's all good, and a RB that spends more time injured but would be first choice with frimpong playing further forward, and gomez isn't good enough to cover/stay fit for long period.

Alonso failed at Madrid. Spectacularly. 7 months and given the boot.
And the glory hunters want him here? I'm sure it makes sense in their tiny minds somehow.
Probably the toughest team for a young manager to manage.
Player power from all the egos there, hanky waving twat fans from the slightest blip and a president that has zero patience.
I think Alonso needs to go away and rebuild his career after that Madrid episode. Totally undermined by the players in public. It was embarrassing. PSG might be a good option in the summer. Guaranteed league win and a chance to have a real go at the CL.

Agree about Leverkusen. He did a fantastic job there. Still failed when he stepped up to Madrid though. He could still do well at LFC but it's risky.
Was it a bad choice in him taking that role? Tough one to turn down but it never felt like he was quite ready for it.
It does appear to be a kind of player revolt against him and his style of management. That's from certain media reports anyway.
Probably too big a job at this point for him, there's very little room for error and it must be a task in itself managing those ego players, I'd add Vinicius to the two you mention aswell.
