Leoni aside..... (well we'll see) even he was kinda known and at 26m

Easiest job in the world at LFC lately, not good enough all round the youth staff, transfer staff etc
Can't really win though, can they?

Spent a lot of money on 'hit and hopes' and 'we're not spending enough on proven quality' and we're trying to compete on the cheap.

Actually spend big money and it's 'been wasted' and 'why can't we find the gems'...

"Actually spend big money" and yet - still we didn't match Arsenal - who already had a bigger squad than us.

We spent big - 1 time - and that 1 time it was in a blind post-Klopp-panic.

We couldn't find all the gems before - but strangely those who weren't quite there were moulded into gems.

DOn't forget only once was Klopp given the funds to go and buy the top talent.. and it only came by losing his best player.. Sell to buy.. Hands behind his back. When the chance to sign the ready made quality presented itself - we landed Virgil and Alisson.. 2 players we ABSOLUTELY needed to fix a defence as porous as a sponge. We don't win any titles or CL's without both.

Last summer = F$G in a PKP. Post Klopp Panic..

FSG in a post Klopp panic... waited the whole year with Slot at the helm and having won number20 they then brought their feelings of panic to action...

Well, I'll just add your Post Klopp Panic buying theory as champions in Summer 2025 to your list of funny posts.

You've posted about Arteta overtaking Klopp
    &
Slot having a more complete game than Klopp
    &
You slated the squad handed over to Slot by Klopp, only to praise when number 20 was won.

At least I dont laugh at your young son getting both barrels... Gimpeo

    1. Arteta DID overtake Klopp - his team finished higher in both of his last 2 seasons. Or weren't you watching? Arteta - a manager not in Klopp's league.. got from 43 points behind us in 2020 to finish 17 points ahead of us in 2023... a 60 points swing in 3 seasons!!! And most of us know how and why. And why it took all of Klopp's strength to rebuild a squad capable of 82 and 84 points..

    2. last season under Slot - particularly before Christmas we played what I felt was next level football for a time. More measured and controlled than we were under Klopp. I saw it and I credited it INSTANTLY... How much of that was due to transition from Heavy Metal to the turgid shyte we have seen much of this season - is anyones guess. Ultimately we got Schooled on the football front by PSG and on the work rate front by the Toon.

    3. There goes the GIMP again bringing a 14 year old into it because he cannot understand common language and invents fantasies in his twisted head then sticks to them. . Or for more sinister reasons.. Pitiful wretch

And the squad handed over to Slot was thin. Very thin - full of the mentality and the top class players Klopp assembled.. BUT had we suffered any kind of normal season on the injury front we wouldn't have come close to a title. As you will notice is the case this time around _ DESPITE the OUTLAY...

So.... back to the PKP - the 'Post Klopp Panic'.... by F$G.. The dog whistle for the shills.

This summer as Trent walked and Diaz was cashed-in-on - Jota RIP - Nunez - sold...Elliot loan-with obligation-to-buy...and Quansah was sold - the squad ENTIRELY built and managed by Klopp was not there anymore..Certainly not in its entirety.. Are you following..? And so - in a blind panic and an attempt to try and show that Klopp wasn't the defining factor in our successes - they went and spent at levels NEVER before witnessed by the men from Boston.

So there's the answer.. and anyone - even those with a double digit IQ should get it.

This just doesn't make sense to me. If as you say they recognise Klopp as what he is a generational manager they've thought the best way to support him is to see what he can do with an arm tied behind his back?

Then seen his replacement win a title in his first season and thought to themselves - 'mmm, not sure about this guy..., fuck it, here's half a billion pounds to spend....'

FSG haven't spent daft money in all of the years they've been here. Why would they suddenly do it for a manager they're not sold on?

Because winning the big prizes IS NOT the goal. It is a great by product. The goal in F$G's eyes is maintaining Top 4 - and the CL money that comes along with it. Lower net outlay for more income. Less need to spend on the best targets and profits still rise. Lower risk for nigh on the same reward. The antithesis of what Liverpool FC was envisaged by Shankly. NOt built to win but rather to be like Wengers Arsenal became.. Kerching.

So jozza the generational manager WHO can keep Liverpool FC competitive on a lower budget GETS A LOWER BUDGET. It is assumed that Rodgers and Slot cannot maintain this level without backing more inline with rivals.

This has been and remains WHY I have never rated F$G... and why I maintain that we won what we did mostly due to Jurgen Klopp and despite them.

Whilst it often doesn't work this way, I think the plan is often to see the loanee become important enough to the would-be purchasing club that it warrants them spending more.

A consistent season at the right club could make a Ł10m sale a Ł20m and so on, though it undeniably carries a degree of risk and often won't work out as planned.
