But was 12 when shankly left,i thought it was the end of liverpool at the time.
if we are using managers to judge ages jockstrap must have been early klopp era.
So from Shanks and the continuation of style through to Dalglish and thrn Souness ripping up thr blueprint and the 30 years of pair that caused you must surely understand the absolute importance of continuation of formation and style of play and how disastrous changing it can be

If 4 managers are amazingly successful with it for so many years and one changes it and it fucks everything up you surely have to see it

football and tactics/formations change over the years Mourinho & rafa's defensive style has been replaced by the high press.
    i have been banging on about returning to 3 man midfield all season and giving us options with 3 upfront, 4 3 3 or 4 3 2 1 or 4 3 1 2.
    would like to try 4 3 1 2 with ekitikie/gapko left attack----isak/salah right attack with wirtz/dom as the 10.

Someone should explain to that loon 19x that players get old (in football terms) and need replaced.

Sometimes a number of players get old around the same time and the squad needs rebuilt.

    It's a never ending cycle.

The silly twat keeps acting like a spoilt brat.

A lot of people don’t seem to have the understanding of automation, positioning and movement off each other, muscle memory of a team built up over years over 3 or 4 different teams as we saw from Bob to Kenny and how disastrous messing with the blueprint can be as we saw with Souness and Evans compounding that

You can’t just take serial winners from a 433 with all that good stuff built up over 10 years and each position improved on until last year all knowing exactly what each other would do in any given situation or position and thrn put those players in a different formation and style and think it will work - This is why CCTV and his obsession with stats make him a football illiterate , he just doesn’t understand it most don’t, they think you can’t take these players and put them in any formation and it’s fine

Real too top level football, serial winning football just doesn’t understand not and will not ever work like that
Problem arguing about that is that we won a title NOT playing in a 4-3-3 too often last season. Szobsoslai played a lot of games as a 10. We played a lot of games, or large portions of games playing a 4-2-4.

And this is why Slot deserves his credit for winning the title last season. The idea that he's just taken Jurgen's team and just told them to carry on 'as you were' from last season is just laughable. It was quite clearly a different set-up from Jurgen's side. And it was just as effective.

The problem for Slot is that he's changed it again, but this time it's not working.

We'll see how stubborn he is, in how he sets us up going forward. If he continues the set up we're currently employing, we'll continue to struggle and he'll get the sack.

Souness 'ripped it up' with poor recruitment. It had little to do with formations / playing style.

It's incredible that you can watch football that long and still know nothing. Unbelievable really. I'd have guessed Rodgers for you.

It has been much more useful than that. You've exposed those who have watched football for decades and still don't have the first idea about the game. Including yourself.

Yep also worth remembering that Kenny left a squad with plenty of aging stars. Rush, Whelan, McMahon, Nicol, and Ray Houghton were all hitting 30…

Walters, Piechniik, Dicks, Ruddock, Clough and Stewart weren't even close!
