Another reason they should sack Slot now and get a manager in to get these players back to doing what they do best who can then be backed in the summer

This is what FSG do, they’ve turned the tap off because the kitty they’d saved up has been wasted

Apart from Wirtz & Ekitike. Question...do you think our current squad would work under Alonso?

Having just done deals for centre backs Noah Adekoya, Mor Talla Ndiaye and Ifeanyi Ndukwe we can assume that the club realise we need to strengthen at the back but they just don't really want to spend so much.

If last summer's war chest consisted of everything we did spend plus the Ł35m we bid for Guehi then you may think we still have that Ł35m left over BUT if you are bean counter at the club you need to subtract the Ł35m 'loss' on Elliott's move to Villa falling through so we are all square again, hence no big signings this month.

    No

    I think it needs a 433 manager

We’ll have to either move Wirtz on or try him
at LCM in the 433 where he moves into the No10 position from there like Coutinho used to or as the false 9

The way Slot’s trying to play won’t work in the Premier League Guardiola gave up on it in 2020 and they had players more suited to it

Just too many teams too good at low blocks pressing and counter pressing and counter attacking in a league that’s always been known for its intensity and cut and thrust for it to work

The improvement in all teams doing those things is what saw Guardiola drop it

Love xabi but it would need a total overhaul to build his squad. We have the wingbacks & the no 10 but not much beyond that

We never needed a 10 however rated and good

I just doesn’t compute why we didn’t just give Diaz his wage rise, move Gakpo on and buy Semenyo and just Ekitike as a forward and strengthen what has just won the league

It is absolutely mental what was done

We can’t start a complete unnecessary rebuild around Slot’s failed pipe dream

Get rid of Wirtz or fit him in elsewhere we only need a LFWD & RFWD to be back in business we still have a top midfield three Ekitike will work well in a 3 as does Isak

He could fit into the Countinho LCM role in a 433
