    Marseille v Liverpool

Maybe we can bring De Zerbi back with us and leave them with Slot 😂

    Team

    Alisson

    Frimpong Konate Van Dijk Robertson

    Szobo Gravenberch Mac Allister

    Wirtz Ekitike Gakpo

Get the win Mo I’m for Wirtz, Wirtz for Macca if he’s back we need forwards in there

    Get the win

Adaptable as Wirtz is, his best work typically occurs in the left half-space, so I'd hope not to see him on the right - outside of emergencies.

Oddly confident about us in the remaining Champion's League, League phase games. Hopefully that confidence isn't misplaced.

... Well we should be beating Marseille...... and the other game is quarabag FK (who?) can't beat them might aswell give up for the season at home too....... 2nd in the well known mighty Azerbaijan Premier League

if your not confident, you might as well give up too.

I actually put Gakpo as it’s almost a dead cert he’ll play him there

I’d probably put Wirtz there, as Gakpo sucks and there’s no-one else the summers business has decimated out forward options

God knows what team turns up, any team that runs at us makes us look very nervous. De Zerbi if I remember has his teams playing on the front foot which has me nervous . Though it will give Wirtz the space he likes so who knows . 3-3.

I was at Anfield when De Zerbi brought his Brighton side and drew 3-3, they were good. Think he’s a talented underrated manager. This will be a difficult game, we’ve struggled in just about every single game this season from Man City to Barnsley, this will be no different

    Alisson

    Frimpong Konate Van Dijk Kerkez

    Gravenberch Macca

    Szobo Wirtz Gakpo

    Ekitike

Salah to get 15 minutes at the end if we need him. Otherwise rest him up until Bournemouth.

I remain pretty confident Kev - though that confidence could take a knock if we were to "tinker" too much and I don't especially want to see Wirtz off the right, given his propensity to do excellent work in the left half-space.

It'll be interesting to see if we revisit the Diamond at any stage this season in Europe now that Isak is out for such an extended spell. Gakpo could arguably be one of the "two" and may be a tad more effective in a centralised position than us seeing the "same old same old" down the left side where he and Kerkez don't really click, largely because of Cody's absolute refusal to pass to him - see what happens.
