If slot is sacked and alonso arrives and sticks with a back 3 then we go for different options.
    This makes the most sense..

I think ppl need to be realistic and concede that Alonso’s way of playing at Bayer won’t work in the Orem

Get De Zerbi get two top wide forwards a CB and a vet astute defensively ball playing No6 lined up ready

Sell Wirtz to Bayern to fund some of it

    Alisson

    Bradley Konate Van Dijk Robbo

    Szoboslai Gravenberch Mac Allister

    NewRFWD Ekitike/Isak NewLFWD

Start like that as there are 8 players who know how to play the pressing and counter pressing and lightning attacks play the right ball when it’s on game and just the front 3 to sort

There is nothing wrong with that midfield 3

Apart from the fact two of them are having poor seasons. MacAllister has been completely invisible much of the time

The summer window looks like a lot of replacements, allison might be all right for another season but robertson looks like he's ready to go,virgil will be 35,salah likely to leave, konate?.with reports that frimpong to be used midfied/attack.
We could be looking at 3 CB's,LB,RB and a winger, dont think funds will cover a DM.

It's genuinely mad how below his best he has been.

He was absolutely Dynamite last season so there is no doubting his capacity to be brilliant, just hope he can find his best again soon - and in a Red shirt!

Macca and Szobo would both move into 10 positions from out of the 3 and make play and connect runs for the winning style of play

For one Wirtz is constantly in his the space he used to move into 2 they’re clearly being asked to play everything shit and to feet and to try and play through the centre AND to play through Wirtz - Not really surprising is it

He was linked with Real last season.

He and his dad iirc spoke with media about their interest in MacA around April and he's been way off it since... with more recent remarks in November not long before MacA spoke with the media about keeping things to himself....

Pretty straight forward put him back in a 3 man midfield with 2 great wide forwards and a nine ahead of him and don’t restrict him to short passes and having to try and make the playing through Wirtz

Slot is wrecking sone of these lads with this shit

Mac Allister has often been slow, ponderous on the ball, and unaware of what's going on around him. Those failings were previously offset somewhat by what he was positively contributing to the team. This season however he has like you say often been completely anonymous meaning that he has been more of a liability than an asset. He's part of the reason as to why our midfield is so open and easily bypassed.
