I dunno stevo, but they've not exactly had the best starts if giving it 100% this season with 3 losses out of 11

Made some top signings mind, Donnarumma is a game changer.

I think part of it is that only certain teams are any good at playing out from the back, everybody is wise to pressing from the front now too so the teams with less technical players get caught out and concede goals too often.
Football goes in cycles I guess and the playing out from the back ( something that Guardiola gets all the credit for but that's actually bullshit. Rinus Michels was doing it decades ago) has maybe peaked. I also think there's this constant want to reinvent the wheel when it's totally not necessary and just shows why Englesi will always be behind the curve in comparison to Europe in technical ability
The constant pace and power game is limited.

You'd hope it would have been spotted before now anyway but it doesn't look like much is being done about it.
In regards to last season maybe I am making too much of it, I hope that's the case. I do think there's been a drop off though. We've struggled to beat teams convincingly since the PSG defeat I think.
Tbf I did highlight a part where you squarely blamed the coaches for a lack of workrate on the pitch.
For me workrate is down to players primarily.
By market values we've a much improved squad this year than last season. Up to Slot & COaching, and PLAYERS to figure it out.

    On last season.
After 34 games we had 82 points, and were 2.41 points per game.
Thats 91.58 points for the season.
We finished on 84 points, 10 & 13 points ahead of Arsenal & Cituae with better gd than both.
In those last 4 PL games. We played our lesser spotted players more, and partied in Ibiza. We lost to cfc & Brighton, and drew v Arsenal & Palace.

    More generally
We trail Arsenal by less points after 11 games, than vice versa last season..
I was willing to call the league March 1st 2025. Was told to early to call with 11 games to play by some on here
We've 10 games to play before 'our January' break.
Arsenal our 10th game in that run of games. After that game, 17 PL games to play..

I think his statement on why he moved on, while outwardly positive, perfectly illustrates the art of the transfer PR script—and the careful reasons why the real issues are never mentioned.

Why the Narrative is Always "New Challenge"
The reasons Díaz gave “new challenge" and being attracted to "the project they were building at Bayern" are the safest, most professional pieces of PR. The very absence of "sour grapes" or talk of money confirms the success of his strategy.

Immediate Goodwill is Paramount: Díaz's primary goal is to start his career at Bayern on the best possible footing. By talking up the "project," he instantly validates the ambition of his new club and gives the fans a positive narrative to rally behind. A warm welcome is crucial, and it buys him time if his on-pitch start is slow.

Maintaining a Clean Professional Image: If the true reason was a falling out with a manager or disappointment with Liverpool's strict wage structure (which is almost certainly a core factor), publicly revealing that paints him as a disruptive "problem player." Sticking to the language of "ambition" keeps his reputation immaculate for every club in the future.

His Agent's Calculation: His representatives are focused on future business. Burning bridges with a giant like Liverpool by citing "disappointing wage offers" is bad for their relationship with all major clubs. The narrative of challenging himself, especially coming from a humble background, is relatable and impossible for either set of fans to criticize.

In short, his statement is designed to be unimpeachable while still achieving the desired outcome of a transfer and a massive pay bump. He gave the public the story they are required to hear.
    Bump.

Yes - read it then let’s see IF you can comprehend.

This is a comment regarding the wording of Diaz’s agent AFTER he is de facto a Bayern player. And After it was clear he wouldn’t get a new deal at Liverpool on more wages.

Would you expect him to say - Yep we come to Bayern because we couldn’t get close to the same salary as other key players at Liverpool - the club wanted to cash in on Luis before he hit 30…. So - we’re here simply for the cash…

    Really man… 🤔

Seriously - just how obtuse would you have to be to struggle with something so obvious?

Look - I’ve been harsh on you probably because I thought you were far smarter than you actually are.

To be clear and in simple terms for the simple

Ihave consistently maintained that Diaz was pushed out by finances (it’s the reality) and that his camp spun it as ambition (the PR). As all clubs and agents use daily.

You are struggling to separate the two concepts. I am looking at the subtext, while you are stuck reading the headline.
