    Summer 2026/Contracts

    yes a bit early

    2026 contracts

Robbo Extend by 1 year if not silly wages
Nyoni Extend (Probably ends up leaving in a few years for 10-20m)
Konate Extend if possible we already need a CB
Woodman Club option to extend by 1 year will be activated probably due to reg rules
    Williams leaves on a free

    2027

    Curtis Jones Extend for numbers/English
Virgil van Dijk Let go in 2027, already on the decline sadly.
Allison... depends on the situation but probably go brazil in 2027
Gomez Sell in 2026, get something for him replace with someone you don't have to worry about getting injured every time he plays
Bajcetic---- think he's broken, possibly 1 year extention then loan and try sell for a few million
Endo-Sell 2026 if we can replace him with a actual top no6 ,and lets endo see out his career actually playing.
Salah Leave in 2027 unless a saudi team wants to make a good offer in the summer.

    All out of contract, 2027.

So I ask you, the great people of LFC online, Extend,Sell,Or leave on a free?

Coming soon------- a LFC online version of snog, marry, or avoid.

Fair play for laying it out - but reading that list gives me the chills...

You’re talking about letting VVD walk and selling Gomez... but who exactly is stepping in? We have signed -one- senior CB since 2018...!! ok no scratch that - I forgot... Ben Davies (2021) - Who literally never played a minute...

If we bin them off, we are left with Konate - who is made of glass - and kids. That ain't a refresh... tha's our rank amateur squad planning coming home to roost. Tough to clear the decks when you haven't re built the foundation. Faltering foundations that were built largely on the sale of Coutinho while the best manager on the planet was in situ.

Losing the entire spine (Ali, VVD, Salah) in '27 looks like a demolition job. I am deeply worried about the next 10 years...we are staring at another long term mid-table transition era unless we land a manager who can get us punching again.

Yep that's why i'm a bit negative about the future, when we already need a LW,NO6,CB before 2027 if I was being greedy i'd also say RW to replace Chiesa or a RB that's not injured every season so frimpong can play further up . even a LB if robbo leaves unless tski comes back and covers for a few seasons ?

We can't cock up the next windows otherwise we are in trouble, we'll probably need another CB in 2027- and a RW- -- no doubt we'll leave it all to last minute again as we fail to future plan.

Hopefully Leoni can take gomez place going forward, we bring in 2 cbs over the next few years... 3 if konate goes!

Szob, Maca, Grav 2028- midfield is ok for a while at least, just need a no6 then that's sorted, no9 sorted

    Times are changin

Don't see VVD getting a extension on his wages when he'll be 36 in july 2027, it's not just my decision but it's what I think FSG will do, already showing signs of decline sadly.

We leave things for too long (positions we need), and fail to future-proof (for players that'll leave soon) it's a joke, it has been like this for years, then we wonder why we have no depth or have to change the team a lot in one window...

Good thread. I agree with all of them. I think Nyoni has already extended though

On his 18th birthday in late June 2025, Nyoni put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
I'm really not as worried about players leaving as some of you. Happens every year at every club. The difficultly will be in replacing players like VvD and Salah who have been world class for a very long time. But there are people well paid to do that.

I'm a little worried because it's a big job, but it's also exciting what the future holds I just hope we get it right, really is a rebuild next few seasons, last summer was just the start.

I’d see with Virgil I don’t see playing a new system in which there’s no pressure on the ball for him to do his best work as him being in the decline i see that as a needless change if formation and style that has badly affected a lot of players who won multiple trophies played as we did to win the title both times and the Champions League all the other trophies and reaching several finals

Robbo renew with wage cut we’re going to need the leaders from the 433 for the new manager most likely De Zerbi

    Konate extend as a priority

    See how Virgil is

Gomez - Need a manager who works with youth and plays them like De Zerbi to bring young players through before we can go binning off homegrown qualified as buying British is very expensive

Alisson we how he feels, he might want to go this summer he doesn’t seem happy with what Slot’s doing like several others as a keeper he has 2 assists and several players he’s released to assist Slit doesn’t let him use that which is madness and if it were me I’d be fkn pissed as many players seem to be

We need to talk about holding onto our best players never mind renewing as if it’s a given with how things are going
