The subs are more about managing game time. Some of that will have been informed by the fitness people at the club so his hands are probably tied a bit with how much he can play everyone.
I'm just gutted at what's happening to Virgil. Players obviously lose it as age gets to them but I didn't think it go this way so bad and so rapidly.
Like Sid mentioned yesterday it's reminiscent of Terry's last season or two. He just wasn't the same.
I thought after his wobbles earlier on he'd get his head together and sort things out but it's not happening at all. He's become lazy in my opinion, that mistake yesterday for the first goal is just lazy. It's not dealing with it, stuff he used do as standard.
I still have the hope he'll turn it around, I'd hate to see him go out on this kind of form. Same with Salah but that looks written in stone now as there's not a prayer he's turning it around. He looks like he's just waiting to go now.

Has anyone seen this stat from yesterday’s game. Possession Lost 21 time's. He can’t bitch about being thrown under the bus with that stat along with 5/10 rating from the Echo.

    67% possession,3 shots on target.
    B'mouth 33% 5 shots on target.
We almost doubled their pass rate too yet still comfortably lost the game.
After we equalised B'mouth had four attempts at goal before they finally got that winner after we'd absolutely made a dogs shit of dealing with two throw ins. We had no attempts at goal after that equaliser and it was all too predictable what was going to happen.

    Only watched you tube highlights.
First goal highball into box which virgl doesnt deal with.
Second goal bournemouth player allowed to move into our half unchallenged, liverpool players back off allowing easy ball into box, harsh to blame kerkez who went with his man.
Another chance 84th min walked through non existant midfield.
Confusing subs from slot didnt help.
4 2 2 2 uses high press from wirtz & dom again leaving 2 holding mids exposed.
What has slot got against 3 man midfield?
    Can use different attacking formations-4 3 3---4 3 1 2--4 3 2 1.

Ultimately it will end up falling on the manager for everything however, it's not his fault maca is playing like a prime poulsen, VVD is playing worse than Rhys williams etc etc, I could go on but you get my point.

Tactics can be a bit of it, but i'm sure he doesn't tell players not to shoot... same with the league 2 defending... VVD had a awful game and it's not for the first time, players are letting him down bigtime, some are just done here sadly.

we've not planned very well for this day, especially with the old lads and still have work to do after a wonderful window before replacing them... it's a mess, but it's a mixture of things as i've said a number of times, we're really fucking shit at forward thinking, we're always one step behind, never one ahead.. always lacking in some way, or counting on certain players far too much, for every game.

I think what makes it worse, we won the league last season we all had hopes of possibly winning more and staying on top, so everything is pretty hard to take really.

we can change the manager sure, but there's alot of problems in the squad, a change of manager could possibly improve certain things, but it will not be a magic fix....

The truth is a lot of work is to be done, and a lot of money needs to be spent.

Amazed salah even started last night.. but slot probably doesn't want him to spit his dummy out again, player power n all that.... thanks for the memories but time to go, sadly we have noone in the wings either who can take his place, Chiesa might as well leave, Rio has a chance on the left at least, same story with VVD... same story with Maca we just don't have the options, it's incredible how we've managed to make the squad depth worse..

Then we have the injured most of the season every season players in Gomez(soon as we need him) and bradley... none of it helps, big big changes are needed all over the pitch, we're ok for no9 though when isak gets back at least... that's literally about it, outside Frimpong and Jones.. who do we have who's reliable and can step in and who would play for clubs above us? Robbo I suppose if he's not leaving.

    It's a shambles.

Obviously it's not easy replacing players like Salah and Van Dijk but one big problem now is that even when they're both playing so poorly there's pretty much no threat to their position, especially Virgil.

Yep the joys of having no depth, it's the same all over the park.

problems at both ends, which is why our goal difference is a mighty +3 chelsea who are now above us, +15 man utd +6 Brentford & newcastle + 4

I know points matter more obviously, but it says a lot, at least if we could actually defend we could count on Hugo +Wirtz partnership to sometimes come up with something, and the odd goal from Gakpo and salah.... and I mean odd goal... because they're both stinking the place out.

we make it so hard to score, and yet so easy to score against us, most games this is..... of course it only goes one way...I could give examples, but it's nearly every game so I don't need to bother.

Gakpo shouldn't be staring for a few games. Rio has looked way more of a threat when coming on, pace and trickery that Gakpo lacks badly.
Him in that central role is almost a waste of a player, he hasn't got it in him to play there.
