The comment in isolation doesn't come across great, "maybe we only won the league because we got knocked out" but he goes on to say, to compete in multiple comps you need a bigger squad.

So maybe a message to the top boys.

I'm absolutely fine with him wanting a bigger squad, really am - but for me it has to work the other way as well.

Lads like Chiesa, Ngumoha and Endo need to get more minutes periodically so that they're less rusty when they do come into the first.

Use them in rotation more often may mean less fatigue/injury for other lads etc etc

We also had a bit of a gap at the top of the League at the time if I recall correctly, though I'd have to check.

Is that 21 points from our last 18 games now, with Man United getting 31 and Chelsea getting 29 in that same period?

Yeah it's frustrating (though Szob was decent in that position at times at his former club) to see Szob come out of midfield to do other duties.

Endo gets to me as well. By no means suggesting he start every game or anything close to it, but if Mac Allister is having a 'mare of a game you can absolutely stick Endo on and put Grav further ahead of Endo etc

I get Slot wanting better-quality squad players than Chiesa and Endo - and perhaps with Ngumoha the lack of minutes is protection to some degree, but whilst I can buy into us having limited squad depth, we don't have NONE.

Overspent on isak and wirtz not the liverpool way,we could have picked up 4 players with that money and plugged some of the gaps.

He did indeed say in the summer he preferred a smaller squad, I quoted him on here.

We won the league because we lost to PSG?? Well we only needed 7 points from 10 games but yeah…

Oh and being knocked out by PSG didn’t help us in the League Cup final did it Arne?? We got battered, Newcastle were much the better side.

And his lack of game time can't be the only reason. When any of these fringe players get a chance they need to take it. No point playing rubbish then complaining you weren't sharp. Same for Rio in that game.

Is it any wonder Slot plays the same 13 or 14. They are the only ones playing near the level we need.

Arne would be better saying less about PSG and the low block stuff in pressers. I think he's trying to defend himself and it's coming out all wrong. Just focus on the upcoming games and what we need to do to win.
