Ekitike is a far far better footballer than Isak. He isn't perhaps an out and out striker in the Isak mould but his ability on the ball is on another level. Forget the stats... Deploy the eye test.

I said this BEFORE we bought Alexander - who I was also more than keen for us to sign.

I know it wouldn't happen but in hindsight.... wish we went for a LW who could cover up front if needs be, send isak back to newcastle ... lols
Have a feeling isak will hit the ground running next season, not sure if room for both in line up and ekitikie has already shown signs he wont like coming off the bench.
Will a 4 3 1 2 work with wirtz behind ekitikie and isak?
Have noticed ekitikie like to start off wide left and my hated 4 2 3 1 could suit him .

Yep could be a problem.. Isak might well outscore him.. but having both is great. Sometimes you need the competition. In the end - there is room for 2 players to compete for 1 berth. Perhaps they rotate on and off all season to remain fresh..? This is what drives elite clubs.

Ask Dom - see his level rise after we bought Florian..

His scoring will improve, we are not as good a side without him which shows how important he already is.
Yes. Harsh comparison. Torres was a top player and bought as such. Dream signing and produced for at least two seasons. Suarez I would say was our greatest ever striker (sacrilege I know). He didn't stay long enough maybe to be considered alongside Dalglish and Gerrard but what a player, biting tendencies aside. Ekitike could be an amazing player if he continues as he's going....seems to have everything. I said on a previous thread he's like Nunez but knows how to score! Nunez had a lot of great attributes - he was strong, competitive, always fit and ready to go. Just lacked that clinical touch which Hugo has.

Absolutely. Isak now has to 'take' Ekitike's place, or at least that's how it should be...

Ekitike has the spot for the rest of the season. Kinda feel for Isak a bit. I'm sure he expected to be the main man. He has been unlucky with that injury and now is being overshadowed by the youngster.

He's not doing too bad is he? don't think he'll be a backup in the future.

Top striker, we should have got that big lanky german newcastle did instead eh?!?!

He's class Hugo's boss, just need to sort the rest of the team out, when we have quality options outwide, Wirtz working with a good front 3 will be mad, Hugo will work well with them coming inside also.
He has been awesome so far. Think I mentioned it before that we tracked him for 6 seasons before getting him. If he keeps going at this rate Isak will struggle to get back into the team. Unless we find a way to play both of them together. Which isn't out of the question. I said in the OP that Ekitike reminds me of Thierry Henry. I reckon he could play off the left with Isak through the middle.

He and Wirtz are starting to form a nice little partnership. We just need to sort the two midfield positions behind them.

@Nineteen - Would you rather have Nunez back over Ekitike? If so, I would hazard a guess you'd be the only Liverpool fan on the planet that would...
Defintely had a bit of Torres about it with the speed and the finish. What a player he was.

I see more Henry myself. Maybe it's the size. He seems to love taking on players from that left hand side.

Imagine keeping the two of them fit and having Ekitike for 65-70 and bringing Isak on.

    On a regular basis. Tasty.

Just need the four wide forward options
