    Roundtable - Slot, Hughes, Hogan

Interesting timing of the release of this, certainly feels that Slot is being trusted/backed.

Have watched about half of this so far.

    Not too bad.

I posted that link earlier on the "All aboard the Slot Express thread' - but not a direct one as 19 suggested it might be slowing the forum down.. It can't be.

FYI - My comment was "No sign of Austin Powers - but interesting.. "

I don't think Slot comes out of this well. As for Hogan.. YUCK - Hughes..OMG..

No wonder Klopp walked. The club is a franchise and this just about wraps it all up - for those who know the club and really observe.

I might be very prejudiced because I loved Klopp and believe he got the club and the city like almost nobody since Shankly... Nothing wrong with Arne Slot at all and I like the guy. But he is such a step down from Jurgen on almost every marker. That is nobodies fault. Find another Klopp in the next 50 years and you will have done well.. Slot might even be a great manager IF he's ever allowed to manage.. but I think it's clear there is a hierarchy that sits between the money and the coach.. I don't like it. I don't believe Klopp would ever accept the job inside that setup.

If we don’t make Champions League they all have to go

I don’t like non football ppl like Hughes being able to back a plan like Slot’s, a guy sanctioning that should thoroughly understand how those changes can effect the club the players and results and know relevant history of how wrong it can go

We’ve only been good in any game this season when we’ve played as we have for 10 years

Just like Daniel Levy at Spurs, as long as the club is making lots of money those behind the scenes namely Edwards will very likely keep their jobs.

If we don't finish in the top five this season Hughes, Edwards and Slot definitely deserve to be sacked, and even if we do manage to qualify for next season's CL, some will think that those three individuals should still be handed their P45.

Slot has accepted and relegated the role of Liverpool FC manager to a mere - "synergy" with the recruitment and executive side.

This is SHYTE and probably why the shill is working over time

It's worse than that - Hughes isn't there to back the plan. The Plan is more to do with Hughes than Slot. "perfect recipe" ...This is why blaming it all on Slot isn't fair. He is weak and has accepted the job because he never had the Kudos to land it in the first place... but this is the Red Sox in L4.. get used to it.

These money men have landed the biggest clubs in the land. They have the majority of clubs in the league now. Don't expext the softly softly approach any longer...They are going to rinse the living shyte out of this league.. KERCHING>>

Im led to believe (i might be wrong,it might be obvious to everyone else anyway) that Hughes alone is the one to decide if Slot goes or sees out his contract/extends. Ditto Edwards with Hughes. Maybe no decisions will be taken until after the summer xfer window and the evolution from Klopps squad continues.

    Evolution? You’re kidding right

Certainly not in formation and style of play

Look 19, Jurgen has gone and he wont be coming back. Im not sure if in the the new manager interviews summer 2024 that the candidates ever pledged to play 433, i do remember something about Amorim and the club not happy with a 3 at the back philosophy but nothing more. I may have missed more detail there. Like it or not this squad is a work in progress regardless of who is head coach/manager and that work is nowhere near finished, Jurgens players from will mostly be gone in say 5 years, bradley, szobo maybe will still be around, possibly alisson.

Change has occurred and will continue to do so whether its slot, alonso or someone else in charge. You wont be happy unless slot starts to wear a baseball cap and glasses and gets massive white teeth implants, resigns nunez, and diaz and presses those older bodies into fatigue. Just hope we can get a new defensive line-up in and working well by next season, and maybe that'll stop you fretting about a formation. Focus on this - maybe if slot goes, he'll take gakpo with him.

Slot was largely opted for as his teams pressing & counterpressing stats were the highest in Europe at that time.
