We need a top RFWD & LFWD both with great injury free history both young Yildiz and Rayan fit the bill, Rayan will likely cost us double what he would have but we didn’t have the foreign player space for him in January

Need to renew Konate’s contract give Robbo a couple of seasons extension so we don’t have to worry about LB for now

And make sure we tie down Macca Szobo & Grav to contract extensions with an extra year option too. We should be working on that now as a matter of urgency as vultures will be circling for them as all three are top top quality

CBs what for me we should be looking for are those very strong at front foot defending Matip Virgil and Konate were/are all great at it and it’s what you need in this league and to be successful power athletic CBs with great reading of the game, spotting the ball early and winning/attacking it, who are really strong front foot defenders able to play 1v1

Or 1v2 as Virgil famously did that time v Spurs

That’s what we need, that’s what a top CB is and does

That’s why we urgently need to sign Konate up to a new contract there really aren’t many CBs that great at what he and Virgil do out there, need to be really careful

I think Macca gets a lot of unfair stick to be honest, I think his contribution is often underestimated He is guilty of not picking up at times but that’s been all of them until recently when we’ve made improvements on it

He’s been scoring and assisting recently too and got some important goals for us

He should be taking free kicks on the edge of the area where most can’t get the ball up and down from but he can

I think he’s a hugely under appreciated player who gets the blame for collective poor team play

Now things seem to be settling down he and Wirtz are both making the play well and Macca’s coming back to top form

Have we forgotten already that only a wonder save by DoinaRumma stopped him equalising v City?

I’ll agree to disagree he very quietly and effectively make the play and defends and often picks up in No6 position when Grav hasn’t

Like Ekitike up front and Mo I think the team has still to develop or reform patterns of play that come from the better pressing and counter pressing we’re seeing and they’ll all continue to go from strength to strength
