Either with Grav but if Slot stays we’re in for more misery in my opinion abd the squad’s wrong

I ‘think’ he wanted to play

    Alisson

    Gomez Konate Virgil

    Szobo Gravenberch Macca Kerkez

    Wirtz

    Isak Ekitike

I don’t see that working at all, Isak thrived in a 433 with the wide forwards being released ahead of him to put deliveries in for him to come onto and Dom and Jerkez aren’t going to provide anywhere like the amount LFWD or RFWD would

You’ve also no press abd counter press with that, loads of space for opposition to get possession and counter from deep left or right abd release players advanced left and right

I’d prefer a 433 midfiekd I think recruiting for a completely new formation and style of play the players had never played and Slit had never implemented as a manager was a massive cock up

Szobo Grav Macca was the best midfield in the league last season changing it was stupid

Agree - changing it wasn't too clever.. but it got smashed by PSG and bullied by the Toon. It wasn't perfect at all. We did well but in a season where rivals were miles off the pace. We had record numbers from Mo Salah and Diaz was a consistent threat. They performed really well and Grav - despite being out of his natural position - looked incredible.. Not sure that midfield looks nearly so good without those factors.

But for Alisson we get annihilated. It was brutal despite the win and I couldn't see anything but us going out despite the first leg result.

    Last season 4 3 3 or 4 2 3 1 with szobo as the 10,szobo was better defensively than wirtz maybe szobo dropped back into a 4 3 3.
With wirtz not as defensive it has left the two 6s exposed, not sure how gravenberch and szobo have done as the two 6s this season but mac has struggled.

The hour long feature with Gravenberch I watch showed us so many times in the 3 every broadcaster had it as a 3 and did analysis on our midfield 3 about how dynamic and great they were

Maybe and thats what i thought but a number of different match reports have it as 4 2 3 1.
Now we have to fit in wirtz, dom, isak, ekitikie and salahs replacement.

The problem is we aren't playing with a double pivot, we aren't playing with any kind of pivot and it's wrecking us at both ends of the pitch.

Wharton and Anderson would be great additions but we already have two class players in Mac and Grav if Slot would just utilise them properly.

I've been incredibly harsh on MacAllister this season and rightfully so, but he's been hung out to dry week in week out by whatever the system is we're supposed to be employing.

We’re rotating mids it’s a random single pivot without the three

We should play with a triple pivot. We've got three mids so why not three. Or even a single pivot. Or maybe a double pendulum?

Double pivot. FFS. Who came up with that bollox, probably the same twat who invented Xg and false 9's.
