I've not seen him play myself, but I did recently point out to someone who was lauding some of our recruitment that there are no guarantees that the likes of Jacquet will hit the ground running and ultimately be a success, or that Leoni will fully recover from his injury and also go on to be a success for us.

I don’t pick loads of players, in that period because I saw a lot of them when a few weren’t being linked to anyone it was Konate Grav Werner Mac Allister Harvertz Fernandes Pacho

Only one failed took the wrong move wrong manager wrong system I Germany he thrived in 433 making runs in behind with the ball being played when it was on at Chelsea they always took the extra pass and he ended up offside I still think it could have been different for him in our set up as we played

I wanted Grav a season before he went to Bayern and still persisted with that even though he was deemed to have flopped at Bayern

Macca played better for De Zerbi still a great signing though

Still only 25 so within our typical "buy under 26" mould and despite being a centre-back more often than not, played right-back at youth level, so understands both roles.

Potentially acquiring a Gomez replacement (utility) that is younger and less prone to injury doesn't seem the worst idea on paper.
