All the top sides that win things press abd especially counter press to get the ball back quickly as thry mostly dominate possession Their picking up and constant good positioning off one another is what helps their attacking play be so potent too

They rarely ever score through having an obvious 1 up top and their one plays right across the line it’s very often 3 up top and supported by a full back and mid in phases thry score in

    Alisson

    Konate Van Dijk

    Szobo Gravenberch Robbo

    Frimpong _____Macca____

    Salah____Ekitike____Rio

Would be a good example of the sort of shape and positioning in play 433 and 4231 sides are often in when attacking and at the point of scoring

You’ll see on there they’re all well positioned to stop any easy counters and win the ball back quickly too

Arsenal frequently are in a 433 shape in a lot of phases of play

PSG wide forwards are their main attacking threat Dembele is frequently deeper than them again their full backs are frequently doubled up with their wide forwards

A full back will often move up to pick up and ve in a counter press g position and position to support but effectively a third mid

Cut and thrust and being direct means they often have a string set up and don’t need too many forward to score

The needless short passing and tempo and way Slit has changed us to playing is the issue They have top top quality wide players who are winger forwards with exceptional 1v1 individual ability and a bigger goal threat than their 9 in a lot of cases

If we're going to continue to play with a 10, then i'd be inlcined to find at least one 'correct' footed winger. Which way round we do that, I have no idea. maybe someone to battle with Frimpong on the RW position and we also look for another RB.

    I really like Harvey Barnes.

If Wham get relegated then Summerville and Bowen could be decent options.

Harry Wilson back on free wouldn't be a terrible signing. Would help with the HG numbers.

This all assumes that Mo and Chiesa will be moved on...

I mentioned the two Wham players recently. Both good, Barnes is too but struggles with fitness and always seems more effective off the bench to me. Saying that though I'd be hoping for better signings than those three.

Possible options, I’d thought about those three too

Hopefully we can aim higher than that if possible

It will depend if Slot stays which to me looks doubtful and what the set up will be, to me it’s still criminal he broke it

Don’t see 3412 with Frimpong and Kerkez supposedly creating from wide working at all really easy to counter on too, plays right into the hands of every low block

Going to depend on budget and if we are targeting a total rebuild or not - if we're going super young we could look at Désiré Doué and Yan Diomande as a combo.

I would not be remotely surprised if we target a single wide player and a right-back though and move Frimpong "up" to become a right-wide option, as it would be cheaper - likely providing more wiggle-room to acquire a midfielder or centre-back or whatever else is needed.

Don't foresee us having an outlay as big as last year and do foresee us trying to address the Home-grown quota - Anderson or Wharton replacing Mac Allister, something like that.

Wouldn't mind a top player to replace Salah, replacement for Maca, and then a "cheaper" attacking option who will do a job, no point chiesa being here.

Watching Forest this evening and Elliot Anderson would most definitely improve our midfield
