    We have not.

Lad is a talent and should only improve.

Hopefully next season there will be more pace in wide spaces and more space for the lad to work.

He has had some performances where he hasn't shown his best, but the list of players at the club that can say they have bosses it on the regular this season is very, very short.

I would definitely say, I've been one of his biggest fans. But he was anonymous today.

I've zero worry about the technical side of his game.

I just want him to take the game by the scruff of the neck but I fear he's happy enough being a cog...

I want to see him in a better set up before we totally write him off.

If we're basing his merit on him this season, then what would we have made of Virg, Konate, Mac, Mo, Grav and Gakpo if it had been their first season?

It’s not Wirtz fault it’s Slot for having the idea and Edwards & Hughes for sanctioning it

We did not need Wirtz we needed to keep Diaz or buy a suitable replacement We didn’t need 2 No9’s either should have kept Nunez and bought one 9 or false 9

Their form has been badly effected by Slot’s changes to how we play to incorporate Wirtz

This whole thing of when someone is criticised for being totally ineffective, defending them by saying others were shite too is absolute bollocks.

When I say Wirtz was totally ineffective YET AGAIN that is the point being made.

When I say Mo was utter gash let’s talk about Mo and the same goes for MacAllister and Gakpo.

You cannot excuse a player’s consistent anonymity on the pitch by saying “what about him and him and him…” yes the majority have been garbage but the excuse that so have others is a complete red herring.

Salah will go in the summer and I have a strong feeling that so will MacAllister but I fear we will persist with Wirtz because we spent £100m on him. Rio was way more creative than Wirtz yesterday we should be trying to get as much of our £100m back as we can and reinvesting it in someone who can take games by the scruff of the neck on his own when we need it.

I’s have sacked Slot end of October

Got back to playing 433 before he broke everything down as much as he has

Benched Wirtz to bring in as a player to play keep ball to defe defend a lead

Put out a best 11 with as many of the title winning players playing in their best position as possible

    It wasn’t rocket science

I hear where you're coming from. I'd be inclined to keep him for another season. We've invested so much in him. To me there's obviously quality there but he's very lightweight. He's young as well. Had he come in for 50m we'd probably be more willing to accept him as a young player with huge potential. As it stands it looks like we've massively overpaid but i wouldn't be surprised if he comes good and we look back and say we're glad we didn't cash him in.
