It might be as simple as Salah causing stuff. Salah is a massive character in the team. He's been the top player for the guts of a decade. Younger players are not going to take him on. A young manager comes in. Salah's been awful all season. Fans cry out to bench him. Finally the manager does and Salah goes straight to the press. Then goes to Afcon. Comes back and young manager seems to capitulate and he's back in the team. He then takes part in Ramadan which means again he's below par. Yet he's still in the team. That was great and it didn’t look staged they meant it and enjoyed it
