What's funny about this thread with respect to Diaz & Gakpo is outside of myself, everyone else gave the same rating to Diaz & Gakpo.

    They were both rated highly,
and both valued at €70 mill on Transfermarkt.

Gakpo had the better goal or assist per minute record of the 2 at LFC in general, last season and using only PL games at LFC.

Now in 25/26 season people are saying Diaz due to goals & assists at Bayern is Unlike Cody - who is decent but nothing more

The player ratings don't support that...
The objective market valuations don't support that....
The goals or assists per minute stats don't support that...

Steveo has concocted a new formula though. Under Steveos formula, Diaz on Win ratio is superior to Salah, Gakpo, Rush & Suarez.

Using the superior goals or assists per minute stats, we find Diaz trailing Gakpo, but we find Rush, Salah & Suarez as better attackers than Diaz.

Now apparently I need to take this new bestest method and use my eyes to see Diaz is a better attacker than Salah, Gakpo, Rush & Suarez.

Using my method, goals and assists per minute, the only apparent contentious outcome is Gakpo is better than Diaz.
Salah, Suarez & Rush all better than both Diaz & Gakpo.

So each of our scores, the average score and the range between highest score - lowest score are above.

Using the above our pots, a tie....

    #1 Virgil & Mo 9.13
    #2 MacA 8.88
    #3 Grav 8.75
    #4 Gakpo 8.13

That makes ake up our top5

Top of the lot Slot 9.25

    Most contentious players/biggest score difference...

    Núñez 4, Jones 2.5, Tsimi, Jota & Chiesa 2, Endo & Gakpo 1.5.

Gave 9/10 to VVD, Grav, MacA, Salah & Gakpo.

Gave 8/10 to Konate, Sobozla and Diaz.

He bettered Diaz for goals & assists per minute, and has done at LFC.

He made it into our best 11 under Slot based on minutes played compared with his time under Klopp. He replaced Darwin last year, albeit Diaz played CF a lot.

In contrast Mo Salah essentially had the same elite level of goals or assists per minute that he had the year earlier. Mo about per 80 minutes in Klopps last season and Slots 1st season. Mo Played more minutes under Slot than in Klopps last year, so he got bigger numbers last year than the year before. Plus our lads ran for Mo, and I always appreciate that work, and Gakpo does his share defensively.

So I thought Gakpo had actually had a better season.

Forum voting showed he made the top5 players of the season.

Thought much of our success was down to the mids being in their second season and the team naturally doing what they did under Jurgen

I complained several times about needless overpassing creeping in and that came from the manager

At this minute in time, think it's safe to say the ratings won't be as generous this year.

It's funny with Slot, even if we finish in the CL places & Win no7, there's a large portion of fans who still want him replaced. Think its been a fairly rough season for him, even the Klopp interview was bad news for Slot.

Then the big 3 from last year, VVD & Salah, and MacA, have been poor to awful in media, and miles off it on the pitch. 2 LFC legends and a WC winner.

Even with some summer transfer disappointments, the team/squads underperformed massively. The results so fucking irritating, the what ifs not even unreasonable, but so many of them.

Most expect Alonso to arrive in the summer, if Slot wins no7 maybe the club can keep Alonso in reserve for a while.
I wouldn't write off Alonso arriving even if we win number 7. How mental would that be

Then again, if we lose to Brighton I wouldn't be shocked if Klopp was back in as interim for the international break.

Let's see what Slot asks the players to do at the weekend...

    No Alonso thank you

433 manager Edwards might yet be off too and that paves the way for Jurgen’s return

My scores are genuinely how I’d have scored it, I had issues with the overpassing last season and that it was diluting our style and performance and with the press and counter press dropping off too

It shows I’d been absent a fair chunk with everything that was going on for me that I wasn’t here to post in this at the time
