All things come to an end sadly.
We have been blessed with Salah. Not just the amazing player, but also the man. He loves the city, the people - our very own Egyptian King.
What a legend… Love the man.

Sad to see Salah leave, feels like the end of an era.The king is dead, long live the king.

'Tis indeed the end of an era.
With the departure of Klopp a couple of years ago, and then a large segment of the squade he built as part of his LFC 2.0 rebuild also leaving(/sadly passing), and now one of the last pillars of his original squad foundation's also gone.
(only Virg and Allisson remain from that original Klopp 1.0 team)
And now, missing out on Semenyo to City in the January window (if we were even in for him to begin with) looks an even bigger loss than it seemed at the time.
Possibly even bigger than missing out on Guehi.
A true club great. The front three of Salah Firmino and Mane were unreal together..the last one to go 😔
Its a touch unusual.
Could be a totally amicable parting, or a relatively amicable parting![]()
The type of deal cause he just wants to go, or the type of deal as he just has to go.
A fee of £50 mill minimum from Saudi wouldn't have been unexpected, maybe he ends up elsewhere.
In terms of service, a free departure cant be whinged at. That includes his various strops.
He's a total legend for Goals & Assists, some spectacular goals & celebrations![]()
Best RWF option in the PL era.
Best RWF at LFC.
Gotta admit the free is a genuine surprise wtf is going on there??
Suspicions/speculation time.
Presumably getting him off the books is seen as a higher priority than risking not getting a fee for him. Perhaps the aesthetic of it also suits both parties, though I don't buy into the need for it. We all assume that a Saudi club slaps a generous transfer offer down in the Summer but they'd only need to wait another year so I'm not sure it's that, plus Mo - a man who is no stranger to self-belief - may feel he still has more to give before going to the "retirement village" of Saudi - whether that's to another Premier League side or perhaps a return to Serie A.
We're paying him almost £21m a year. That's a big chunk of change - it's a decent percentage of what we get for getting Champion's League football. Hard to justify that on anyone really - and on that I've been a little surprised/frustrated that the precedent set by giving Virg and Mo such big wages means we look like we will be exceeding the £200k-per-week wage threshold more often, as it will mean we sometimes give our bigger wages to lads than what their performances merit. Everyone will come asking for more.
Unfortunately, performance-wise, in the indifferent World of stats, analysis and data, Salah is not "worth" what we currently pay him this season. Bound to be a factor in moving him along.
From his side, he probably despises playing under Slot and there's probably no guarantee for Mo that Arne isn't our Manager next season - I can't see him being up for another season of that.
Foresee this period making for an interesting chapter in a book in a few years.
I should think some of the number-cruncher types (Edwards etc) are perhaps doing some planning in case we aren't in the Champion's League next season (having at least £100m less come in, nearly £21m removed makes a dent) as well.
Lastly, the insane regularity of Mo's presence in the side has always pointed to him having something in his contract about playing a certain amount of times per season - the club (or more specifically Arne) may very well wish to simply be rid of this proverbial headache at a time when Mo can't be relied on to finish chances. Whilst some of it may be coaching (he is wider than normal and getting less opportunities to be in the penalty area than last season) we have all seen just how many times he has skied it over the course of the season, or hit it tamely. He's "off it" in more than just the pace department.
It's a shame that so many things are coming to a head and that we look like we're going to go through a spell of upheaval for a bit. However, we have been through similar before - several times - and the trickier spells just make us appreciate the good times all the more. We'll be fine - as will Mo - and we will all have some wonderful memories.
