I don't think we need a complete rebuild. A proper manager and a few new players could make a world of difference

Agreed. A decent manager should be able to get a lot more from these players.

Our squad is thin but if we could add some quality to the first team we're not far off. What I'd love to see us do is sign a few like matip again. Cheap or free but a very good player to have in the squad. Weird how we broke our transfer model last summer and we've been crap since.

Same for me. A couple of key additions, bit of depth, someone more willing to manage the minutes of our players (surely Gravenberch looks better if he is played a bit less often?!?!) and we should pick up.

We lack goals, we lack pace, we lack fight. Get two or three lads in who have a couple of those qualities and utilise what we have coming back to us (whether it's sales to fund more activity or just using them) from loans and there should be something of a lift.

We won't be competing for a League title in 26/27 but a couple of additions to this squad and new leadership should render us capable of 3rd/4th while bringing new talent through and reaching the quarters of the Champion's League again.

By the end of 26/27 and the Summer window that will follow, we would have gone through 3 transfer windows (this Summer, Jan '27, Summer '27) and should be capable of entering the 27/28 season looking like a pretty respectable outfit, provided we don't f**k up our recruitment and appointment.

I'd like to hope not. They're undeniably "business first" and it's absolutely fine to point that out, but even if I take my "fan" head off here - you would think as business people they will see the possibility of us continuing to slide under Slot and thus seeing us miss out on the money that comes in via Champion's League revenue.

I don't foresee them keeping him on to "save a few quid" as they'll be smart enough to know that a new Manager probably means more money in the long-run via regular Champion's League attendance - which is what they'll want for the continued growth of the "business" as they see it.

If he IS kept on, it means someone - whether it's Edwards, Hughes or whoever is suggesting that the exceptional circumstances faced this season are the reason for the malaise, moreso than Slot - which I think would be an error of judgement.

That or they're failing to admit to their mistakes as it might cost them their own job.

I don't think any business-person would look at Slot as the "safe pair of hands" just now to protect the "investment" etc
