Yep - but it's far worse...we're screwed long term mate. Looks to be a golden opportunity for them to be lowering expectations now. The club is making record revenues. They only need to keep the old girl in the CL places 2 out of 3 seasons and we're in their sweet spot. They ride it out until the ESL or equivalent becomes defacto OR they make a huge profit at point of sale..

If they don't make any signings or a couple. over the last 2 seasons. the money we make, in champions league qualification etc. will work out the same for the purchases the club made over last summer. so in a sense, we will have spent nothing..
Our squad is lacking depth, But the club will probably think Rio and Gakpo, will be enough for the left.. Konate signing back on, will make sure we don't need another back up defender.
Jones is on his last year of his contract, and they'll think, well if we don't get a decent enough fee.We'll keep him and let his contract run down.
