I'd genuinely like to see him under another manager. I feel that way about some of the others, if Virgil leaves this summer it'll be really sad. I don't want him to go out this way and would like to see his final season under a manager who inspires confidence, has a team playing with identity and obviously like you've mentioned fitness) athleticism. He can bemoan injuries all he wants but the bottom line is it's an unacceptable return for what he had and what he's got. That squad should be doing way better than 12 defeats and 7 wins since the turn of the year.
That's not a bad squad he has, the issue is he's so arrogant to think his way of playing will work. Everyone can see the failings yet he's not done a single thing to alter it, he's not going to change it for next season either.
Another game tonight where we've been outworked massively. These stats won't change with better players because he's got good players now, It's his system and his methods that are failing.
