Im well passed the stage of hoping/assuming he could get a tune out of whoever was in his squad. He'd most likely had cherki at RB, guehi would have picked up a career threatening injury and gakpo still get the full 90. A lucky "head coach" will get a player he wants only if the DoF and the analysts agree, unless and until he proves he can put a club in a title race and into cup finals year on year. Then he may get final say on some transfers. Clubs like ours who operate within FFP and have owners who need to draw a dividend are less likely to hand a head coach free rein.
