The 25 off Arsenal is the annoying thing for me - and not because it's them or any of that - simply the disparity between us and top spot.

We finished 30 points adrift in our final season under Houllier and that prompted us to bite the bullet and go after Rafa.

We did take another jump up during his tenure (good thing we won the Champion's League in 04/05 as the League season wasn't great...) so it certainly proved to be the right call.

As our 25/26 season progressed I'd probably have been begrudgingly accepting of being 15 points adrift or so, as 5 fixtures worth of results is something you'd feel you might be able to work on, with some players further settled by the time 26/27 comes around and another dip into the market to supplement whatever your "plan" is meant to look like.

But to finish 25 points off.....that's practically a quarter-season worth of points. That's a chasm - further compounded by the current "nothing" that is our style of play this season.

If we are sticking with Slot (a worry, frankly) and the powers that be are "all in" on making this work, then we need a couple of top wide players and a defensive mid if we want to begin to eat into that sort of deficit as we look so limited for cutting edge.

Absolutely disgraceful. I know they didn't have European football but 53 points is outrageous and just shows how bad we have been.
The fucking Egg was asked to sum up the season in one word, he said "injury". He's so self absorbed and unaware he genuinely doesn't think any of it is on him.
I mean,.....even "injury" is on him.

Wasn't it his own (physio)staff and training methods that were playing a role in how fit and available a lot of those players were?

Including his team selections - such as the number of times early in the season when he'd insist on starting and playing a clearly unfit and 'not-quite-ready-for-full-game-time', Isak or even Macca, who was likewise clearly not fit enough to be starting games this season - over the healthier (and on-form) Ekitike, or giving some playing time to some of those bench players that he was adamant to keep ignoring like young Trey Nyoni - who could have spelled some time for him to give those injured or unfit starters more time to get healthier.

Or the fact that he'd consantly just keep playing key players with poor rotation patterns until those players form fell off a cliff (like Grav in the middle).

He had as much a role to play in our injury crisis this season, despite him blurting it out like that as an excuse as if it just fell out of thin air and happened to poor old him.

So sick of him and his twaddle.

It infuriates me to no end to imagine that those on the Board think this clown is the way forward for this club in the coming season.
Another season wasted - no matter when they decide to sack him.

Couldn't agree more. I'm absolutely sick to the back teeth of him and his bullshit.
Full of shit after every game and absolutely no culpability from him at all. 12 league wins from the last 33 games. Wow. The stats against him this season are incredible, they're so bad it's unreal.

Just watching the YnWa reds vid on YouTube and as always under this prick as manager his videos are damning but on the money. He's adamant he's getting the boot so we can only hope and goes on to say that behind the scenes the club is in absolute turmoil,a total mess.

Lots of pundits keep saying we need to have a pretty much "perfect window". What are the chances of that? When you look at who potentially leaves and what you need to bring in it's just so unlikely and even if we were to say have a similar spell to the time when Alison,Virgil and Fab arrived it would still leave us short massively in terms of squad depth.
Turning this around is a huge task at anytime but with that tit in charge it's looks more than impossible.

I watch this fella on Youtube,,further into the video, he says something along the lines, He has 2 really good sources in the club and they recon Slot will be let go.

For what its worth, I hope Slot does go, I don't like the attacks on him personally, We all do it and ive done it a couple of times. But he did win us the league, Even it was Jurgens squad. he was still the manager, So he should always be shown respect for that.

Just he doesn't come across as much of a leader, hes very bland. Klopp gave the club an up at em attitude,
We need that spirit back, unfortunately hes not the man to do it

He’s saying exactly what Craig Houlden was saying from Anfield Agenda about Slot, Hughes and Edwards. He just comes across as more credible.

You can only hope, but it seems like the Slot rot is set to continue.

Considering the last transfer window I have no faith.

That's a big issue. We really cleared out our squad as a sacrifice to pay for Isak/Ekitike/Wirtz/Kerkez.

When you look at everyone who left last season we lost a lot of options from the bench.

    Kelleher
    Trent
    Diaz
    Nunez
    Elliott
    Quansah

Give it another 7 days at least until Enrique finishes his season

Every few hours mate! The longer it goes the more I lose hope though. Thers is nothing to like about him unfortunately, whether it be style of play or charisma when in press conferences. It's as if all of his answers have been put through Chat GPT. Good old RoboSlot.

"We were all inspired by Guardiola and Klopp and I think at a big club, which I worked in at Feyenoord as well, it is probably the only style you can play - to have the ball a lot, to have a lot of energy..."

"...fans love to see a team that wants to do everything to win a game and if things are tough they try to do everything to turn the game around."
