Jones has never been good enough to be more than just cover for other players and to add to our home grown quota. He'll have a couple of decent but not great games, the media and some of our fans will start overpraising him, and he'll then go on to be poor or in fact completely anonymous in the next few games he plays.
As Steveo says, if Klopp couldn't turn Jones into a better, more consistent player, nobody can. If we can replace him with a better, more consistent player we should do so. The two things that might save him is either us not being able to get in a suitable upgrade, or us struggling to meet the home grown quota.
