As a cheap option to cover the entirity of the front line I am not totally against this. We'd still need two more top options for either side.

He'd certainly be a good fit with the rapid back to front stuff that Iraola likes. His off the ball movement is pretty good, just a shame aboout his finishing...

Brilliant engine, very good injury record, loves to press, quick, effective at defending from corners (which we're not great at) and would start the season at the age of 27 (his birthday is really soon, don't know why I know this) and I never wanted him sold.

I'd be all over this. He isn't the answer to our goalscoring issues but in terms of what he brings to the party I have always seen him as a net plus, even if I'd never be confident of him in a one-v-one situation with a goalkeeper.

Bring the chaos back. The Kop love him - gives 100%…. a no brainer imo

We have so many problems to solve at once, this is a free no brainer for me too.

I'd be surprised if we sign Nunez, or Diomande for that matter.

I think our policy is to avoid South Americans and Africans, at least at senior level, because of problems with international duty, jet lag and AFCON absence. One of the reasons I believe we cashed in on Diaz and Nunez.

Having said that some of the best players hail from these continents (I seem to remember Steel Wool calling for a big African in the side to boss the midfield) and of course any transfer model may have changed with the dismissal of Slot, if he had any say at all.

Nunez would be a feel good signing, although it would make Edwards and Hughes' last summer extravaganza look even dodgier if they were to buy him back.
