Sadly this one looks season ending too.
The double whammy of entering a title defence with way too few senior CB’s and a bunch of sick notes.
It goes back to what i was saying last season about players bodies getting used to doing certain things, which everyone here rubbished incidentally
Whereas your post here agrees with what i saw saying
How you use and move your body playing in midfield is very different to how you use it playing at CB, you're body, especially over so many games playing at such high intensity, get very finely tuned and honed to being used a certain way and into a rythm of that, if you then start using it differently in some actions it will be working against itself and doing things that are unnatural to it and with that comes the risk of injury
It's why Hendo did his hamstring v Atletico last season, the body already fatigued from the number of games, he went from not making any long sprints, his body finely tuned and honed in a rythm of shorter 5-10 yard sprints to making 5 or 6 lung busting 50-60 yard sprints, and ping, his hamstring goes
"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”
