Make sure we’re a lot better in the press and counter press and in our picking up rather than just standing in space for a needless 5 yard pass, which also sees us crowd ourselves out
Use runs in behind switches and medium to long diagonals move the ball quickly and directly in as few passes as necessary to create the chance and score or release a player to assist
Set the corners up to get going just the other side of the PENALTY spot out of their keepers reach have a player corner if their box far side and another just by the D on the edge to pick up and quickly recycle any second ball and out it back in to the other far post where we’ll have 2-3 players inside looking to attack it or drill it into feet to turn home
Make sure we play the ball to release players when it’s in as often as possible, make sure we have with and if they’re pressing our KB and LCM or RB and RCM we have LFWD or RFWD making an inside out run to disarm their press and be found and a player making a run to support that or if they’re back too the No9 does that
Make sure if we go longer diagonally or by a switch we have a player immediately making a run to support the player that ball is to, to pick up any second ball or support it
These things are just best practice and keep you in good shape good habits and help you keep clean sheets and create as many chances as possible.
Variation is important against low blocks too as you can go diagonal or switch, support that ball with a run from another player and win it to have a new point of attack the low block isn’t set for with say two players in our left, with 2 runners coming in from our right off the back of defenders from where the play was before
Really basic simple things that help you keep clean sheets, create and score more goals, control games far better and restrict the opposition to as little possession in your half as possible
Get the win NO excuses
