Match Thread Liverpool V Man City

    Starting lineup confirmed.

    Alisson

    Szobo Konate Van Dijk Kerkez

    Gravenberch Mac Allister Wirtz

    Salah Ekitike Gakpo

Kerkez and Gakpo are an issue in this team. I think City will win this. I hope not, but they look very strong.

Do you mean the combination of Gakpo and Kerkez not working together? Or just those two players? Because Kerkez has been superb of late.

We’ve had a week to prepare & work on everything we’ve been improving these last 2 games to improve it further and further as we always should

    Team confirmed

Given it worked last time out and we have the option to bring a player on and move Szobo into midfield

    Alisson

    Szobo Konate Van Dijk Kerkez

    Gravenberch Mac Allister Wirtz

    Salah Ekitike Gakpo

Wirtz arriving rather than starting up there is really paying dividends for me

Great ball today from Kerkez for Ekitike’s second need more of that from him and better delivery and working of the space when further forward

Get the win be direct mix it up attack quickly no slowing it down going backwards unnecessarily

City have been very weak this season and easily countered on and played through if we play direct and mix it up, pick up to win it back high and stop counters Kerkez ideally needs to be 1v1 on Senenyo stop him receiving it and get turned and being released in behind

    Three points minimum requirement

You ideally need a man on Rodri, false 9 would have been ideal

Slot electing to go with the same starting 11 as the Newcastle game.

No Gomez available for RB so Slobo it is.

Be great to see a long shot of Semenyo and Guehi’s faces at FT - IF we win.

    Come on…. come on

Why is Doku not playing? I think City are missing a trick leaving him out. Or is he injured? I was most worried about him running at our right side and he was the main source of our problems last time we played.
