So I had a look in case the worse happens, it’s a nightmare lads

It’s full of kids with really wild ideas who haven’t yet developed the appreciation that teams become top teams through continuity of formation, style of play and selection and recruitment of the right players that fit that style and develop a very high level automation and understanding through the continuity of that

Thry have no concept that if you take a top team or top players and play them in an entirely new formation and style it most frequently doesn’t work

This is like one of their formations

Frimpong Szobo Grav Kerkez

Isak Ekitike

One it’s Evans after Souness

2 none of those CBs played in a back 3

3 Frimpong and Kerkez are nowhere near Trent and Robbo quality abd they needed the wide forwards ahead of them to help them create

4 Neither Isak or Ekitike are forwards who play in a pair or foxes in the box or dominant in the air or good at short runs off the back of a player to be played through

5 it has escaped their attention entirely that you won’t play through low blocks like thst

Most of them think this is a top line up 🤦*♂️

Mate I was writing quality articles opinion pieces, match reports and funnies for a World cup site 24 years ago
