Konate won't be signing a new deal

As the title says, Konate is off. I'm not fussed. He is error prone and certainly didn't have a good season. We just need to make sure (easier said than done with the Chuckle Brothers in charge of recruitment) that we get in a good, proven replacement. What we can't afford is another Guehi-esque fuck-up.

Yep I asked this about half an hour ago. So he’s off. I mean the geezer is a liability so often but the amount of change is scary. Seems there isn’t much left that players want to hang around for.

He wants too much in wages and probably his agent is asking for a huge whacking fee as well. I agree with the club in that sense..
If Konate is happy playing for a smaller club, Which he will., cause no club on our level will want him. so be it, Enjoy your huge wage and thanks for your time

You'd think players would learn that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence, especially after seeing what's happened to the likes of Coutinho and TAA. Unfortunately lots of players are greedy sods who are as thick as mince, and they also often think they are better than they actually are.

    A centre-back quartet of -

    - Van Dijk
    - Jacquet
    - Leoni
    - Gomez

Leaves us with some questions. Endo has played an almost 50/50 spread of minutes in his career between centre-back and defensive-mid but clearly isn't rated by Slot, with Bajcetic being another conundrum wrapped in an enigma blanket held in the question cage.

Konaté is far from perfect and certainly didn't merit the rumoured wages he was asking for (£300k-per-week but who the Hell really knows?) but I'd have rather have kept him around than not, especially as it would have meant Gomez was more available for covering some right-back minutes to ease worries about Bradley/Frimpong and hopefully put an end to sticking Szoboszlai in there.

It just seems to be a neverending amount of falling Dominoes just now.

one player coming back from a serious injury Leoni
Gomez will probably get injured in pre-season and won;t make the start of the new season
Jacquet is currently injured and may not start the new season
Then we have a 35 year old player whos not gonna get a rest cause, hes at the world cup in Van Djik. He can't continue to play every game anymore.

Be even more questions Sid when gomez and endo are sold lol, but Arne will just slot (geddit) szobo and grav in there when needed. Id be more concerned that we're lkg to spunk huge money on another forward. What's bowens contract situation like at WHU

In 2023 Bowen signed a seven year £150k p/w contract. Apparently his wages will be cut by 50% because West Ham are now in the Championship. It seems that he is being valued between £30m - £50m based on various estimates.
